Daytona 500 lineup: Starting order, pole for 2023 race based on qualifying results

It’s not quite the Daytona 500. But Daytona qualifying has been an event dominated by Hendrick Motorsports in recent years, with the storied company claiming eight of the last nine poles at the World Center of Racing.

2023 was no exception as two Hendrick riders pushed their way to the front of the field during Wednesday’s qualifying round. Now the organization is in another rather advantageous position – to be on the front row of Sunday’s race.

The Daytona 500 qualifying system is a bit convoluted, especially compared to other Cup Series races. After two days of action, the grid for Sunday’s big race looks like this:

Who Won the 2023 Daytona 500 Pole?

Austin Cinderic He continued to demonstrate his dominance at the World Center of Racing and clinched his third career pole with a brilliant run at Daytona on Wednesday.

Cindric sped around the track at a speed of 181.686mph, a few ticks faster than teammate Kyle Larson who finished second in the event.

It was an unprecedented run of success at the Trioval track for Cindric and Hendrick Motorsports; the defending champion has started from the front row in each of his last six races on the track. His team, on the other hand, has produced a pole winner in eight of the last nine years.
