Daytona Duels 2023 live updates, results, highlights from Daytona 500 qualifying races
The epicenter of the stock car world will be in Daytona this week.
Sunday’s Daytona 500 represents perhaps NASCAR’s biggest event, a spectacle drawing 200,000 in to kick off a packed Cup Series table. It’s not called “The Great American Race” for nothing.
However, race fans will get a taste of the action at the 2.5-mile circuit on Thursday, with the Daytona Duels, a 150-lap double sprint set to determine the starting order behind the two drivers on the front row on Sunday.
It’s a bit of an oddity in the world of Cup Series racing, which usually set the day before the race as the qualifying round. But it should be an engaging affair, especially as riders attempt to position themselves up the ladder in hopes of catching that gleaming Daytona hardware.
