Destiny 2 Point-Contact Cannon Brace Guide: How To Get The Season Of Plunder Exotic Armor

As with every class, the Titans in Destiny 2’s Season of Plunder have received a new piece of exotic armor. Point-Contact Cannon Brace is a line of gauntlets that fit nicely into the Arc 3.0 revamp that’s just launched, making it something you’ll want to get your hands on sooner rather than later. But this isn’t an exotic you’ll come across by accident, nor will you get it through a specific quest. Here’s how to unlock the Exotic and what it does. But be aware – as of August 25, Exotic has been temporarily disabled. You can still purchase it, but you cannot equip it for now.

Hammer of the Gods is the headlining perk for Point-Contact Cannon Brace, but it specifically requires you to use the very awesome new arc melee Thunderclap (the one that charges the attack with your melee button/button). Defeating an enemy with Thunderclap restores melee energy, allowing it to be used more often. Also, if you use Thunderbolt, all nearby enemies will be hit with lightning bolts, the range of which will be increased if you are boosted at the time.

There are a number of ways to get boosted, including quickly defeating enemies with Arc damage. Due to its nature, this exotic fits well with the Knockout aspect, which focuses solely on melee attacks. It increases your melee range and damage, and applies bow damage to melee attacks when you critically wound a target or break their shields. Not only that, defeating targets with melee attacks triggers and boosts your health regen, which is exactly what you want to take full advantage of Hammer of the Gods lightning bolts.

The gauntlets not only enhance the already highly entertaining melee attack, they also look cool and electrified. There are no alternate appearance ornaments available yet.

Where to get Point-Contact Cannon Brace

Point-Contact Cannon Brace is found exclusively in Legend Lost Sectors. That is, until you unlock it by completing the relevant activity, you will never get it from the random exotic pool.

Legend Lost Sectors are harder versions of Lost Sectors. Only one is available per tag, which can be identified by a specific icon on each location’s map in Director (as shown below). You should pay attention to the rewards area when you mouse over this icon, as it will tell you which armor slot to win – it is possible that you will have to wait several days for gauntlets to appear in the rotation.

Completing a Legendary Lost Sector is no guarantee that you’ll get the exotic you’re looking for. By default, an exotic drop is rare, although you can opt for an even tougher challenge but a higher chance of an exotic reward on Master difficulty. And if you haven’t previously unlocked an Exotic Lost Sector exclusive in the same slot, you might earn that before the item you’re trying to snag. Luckily, once the activity is complete, you’re dropped off at the entrance, so you can repeat it repeatedly until you get what you want (or curse the RNG gods and call it quits).

How to defeat a Legend Lost Sector

You can add a waypoint for a Legend Lost Sector from your map to guide you there. At the entrance you will find a flag that you can use to load in. It is important to pay attention to the various modifiers, as Legend Lost Sectors require preparation.

You have a limited number of respawns available and a time limit of 15 minutes (after which you cannot respawn if you die). For each champion you defeat, you get an additional respawn.

Crucially, these champions pose a major threat to you. You’ll need to make sure you gear up with the appropriate Exotics or seasonal artifact mods to deal with them, as it’s not practical to weave your way through these encounters. That makes your choice of artifact mods important unless you happen to have an exotic with an intrinsic anti-champion trait.

Also consider the active burns, which cause you to deal and receive more damage from certain elements and shields. Burns can help determine which elemental weapons to bring or which subclass to use, but the shields are also key. The Match Game modifier greatly reduces the damage you deal to shields when mismatched with their element. So you have to be equipped accordingly.
