Early Fantasy WR Rankings 2023: Wide receiver rankings for standard, PPR leagues

Even with fantasy football’s draft season more than six months away, it’s never too early to get a head start next season by preparing with our much-early WR rankings for PPR and Standard leagues . While there are a handful of variables that will ultimately cause some volatility in our rankings — free agency, NFL draft, trades, and injuries, to name a few — we’ve compiled our top 20 wide receivers for 2023 if we had to draft today .

After a campaign in 2022 in which the third-year wideout saw all receivers in yards (1,809), receptions (128), yards after catch (630), red-zone goals (28), expected extra points (+113 .1) and led PPR points (368.7) and standard points (240.7) is no surprise Justin Jefferson at the top of our list. Despite four weeks without a double-digit PPR score, J Jettas has been as consistent as can be in a position where weekly variances are inevitable. Fantasy owners needn’t reconsider this offseason – Jefferson is the undisputed top WR across the board.

Right behind Jefferson is his former LSU teammate Yes’Marr Chase, who we expect to have an even more complete 23-round campaign in a Bengals offense that’s only trending upwards. Chase played in just 13 regular season games last year after missing weeks 8-12 with a hip injury. Still, Chase finished the regular season leading all WRs in expected fantasy points per game (19.8) while compiling the third-most red zone goals (26).

Cooper Kupp His season was abandoned in Week 10, but he still led all WRs in PPR fantasy points per game for a second straight season (22.4) and is again a safe first-round pick with a stable bottom and given a high ceiling he assumed a 31 percent goal share at 10.9 goals per game. Tyreek Hill And Stefan Diggs round out the PPR top 5 as the two AFC East wideouts both ranked in the top 5 in terms of fantasy points per route, with Hill leading all WRs (.69) and Diggs ranking fourth (.63) .

We’ll see who ends up throwing Davante Adams The next season, but despite a late-season QB change, the three-time All-Pro wideout still showed his ability to call numbers. CeeDee lamb, AJ Brown, Amon-Ra St. BrownAnd Jaylen Waddle Complete the top 10 as all four wideouts ranked in the top 10 for yardage by catch, showing their craziness and play lengthening ability.

Wideouts 11-20 all look like a large enough target percentage to warrant a big draft pick. Notable pass catchers from this list include Offensive Rookie of the Year, Garret Wilsonwho put up 1.1103 yards despite a rocky QB situation, and Keenan Allenwho was classified PPR WR3 from weeks 11 to 18 after returning from a hamstring injury.

From now until the start of the season it seems there is a lot going on that will cause this list to need some changes. Check back regularly with Sporting News Fantasy for news, updates and revised position rankings between now and the Fantasy Draft season!
