Elon Musk’s ex-girlfriend Grimes reveals latest ‘alien scar’ tattoo on her CHEST
Grimes has unveiled her latest bizarre tattoo – an “alien scar” on her chest – sparking “a little scare” from some of her fans.
The 35-year-old singer, who rose to fame after dating Elon Musk and having two children with him, shared a photo with strange white markings in an Instagram post over the weekend.
“Alien scars from @zhenja_tttr,” she wrote alongside a planet emoji, tagging tattoo artist Zhenja and also adding her new song, “Welcome to the Opera.”
Grimes (born Claire Boucher) has added her latest body modification after previously expressing a desire to have surgery to give her “elven ears”.
However, some fans expressed their concerns about the new colorway, with one fan writing, “Girls…I’m a little scared.”
“Grimes are you alright?????” said one fan, while another wrote, “this looks like a bunch of jumbled up korean letters… what alien scars tf.”
The 4AM singer received some positive comments, including one follower: ‘This is indeed your best work!!!!’ It was worth the wait!!!’
For her latest change, Grimes got a design reminiscent of fantasy and science fiction images.
The tattoo featured jagged, thorn-like protrusions in mirror-image patterns somewhat resembling the inkblots from the Rorschach test.
The tattoo started just above her ankle and then continued well past the kneecap to her thigh.
Although the design was quite abstract, it had an animalistic appeal thanks to the claw-like edges.
The portion of the tattoo on her thigh also resembled a bony bat wing, but was significantly stylized.
The size and complexity of the design suggest that inking was a lengthy process, but Grimes seemed delighted with the results.
“V nice v nice,” she wrote in her Insta Stories post while tagging the artist. “Will take a better photo when I’m free @caidasindesamparo.”
Grimes was dressed in a scruffy, casual style for her tattoo session, with oddly shaped baggy gray corduroy pants, a loose-fitting black graphic tee, and white athletic socks trimmed with green lace.
The musician, who recently hinted she could share the royalties with anyone who uses her voice in AI-generated music, already has an extensive tattoo collection.
A photo showing her other pant leg pulled up slightly revealed that she also has a huge tattoo on her other leg with bold markings reminiscent of Japanese calligraphy.
Lately, she has been open about her desire to continue transforming her body, although her posts on social media on the subject suggest that she is simply looking for a change and doesn’t want to do many specific procedures.
In August 2022, after asking fans to suggest facial changes for her, she announced that she wanted to have “elven ear” surgery, to which her ex-muschu received a disapproving reply.
“The disadvantages of having elf ear surgery probably outweigh the advantages,” he wrote, after she had previously raised concerns about the longevity of the procedure, as cartilage in the ears would likely not grow back after the operation.
Aside from her critically acclaimed music, Grimes is best known to the general public for her past relationship with Twitter owner Elon Musk.
They began dating in 2018 and reportedly connected after learning on Twitter that they had both invented the same pun.
The ex-couple have two children together, a son with the difficult-to-pronounce name X Æ A-Xii and a daughter named Exa Dark Sideræl.
However, her son is nicknamed X and her daughter is nicknamed Y (both are pronounced like the letters).
They welcomed X in May 2020 and Grimes announced in September 2021 that they were “semi-separated” although they still lived together while raising their child.
In January 2022, she announced that they were back together but “very fluent,” and also shared that they took in Y as a surrogate in December 2021.

Grimes and Musk were forced to change their son’s original name, X Æ A-12, because a California law prohibited them from giving the child a numbered name, but they changed it to a compliant Roman numeral version.
