Everton transfer news LIVE – FFP latest, Abdoulaye Doucoure claim, Rodrigo Becao update
Hello and welcome to the Liverpool ECHO live blog on Saturday for all the Everton news you need to get out of Goodison Park.
There was big breaking news yesterday afternoon after a report emerged from the Telegraph insisting the Blues “are at risk of a points deduction or a hefty fine after being accused by the Premier League of breaching financial rules”. The report adds that “there is no timeframe for when the case will be heard, but it is considered unlikely that a decision will be made this season.”
The Premier League also released a statement on the matter, insisting the club was referred to an independent commission for an “alleged breach” of profit and sustainability rules. Everton have since responded to those allegations, expressing their “disappointment” with the decision, while making clear they “stand ready to defend their position strongly to the Commission”.
On the transfer front, an update has been issued on the Blues’ reported pursuit of Udinese defender Rodrigo Becao.

Salernitana ‘Eye’ Keane
Salernitana are reportedly planning a summer move for Everton defender Michael Keane.
That’s according to TV Oggi Salerno, who reports that Salernitana’s sporting director Morgan de Sanctis has been ‘considering’ a move for the centre-back in recent months.
The report goes on to claim that the Serie A club have the former England international on their list of possible summer destinations.
Keane joined Everton from Burnley for £25m in the club’s record-breaking spending summer in 2017. The defender’s contract at Goodison Park runs until the summer of 2025.

A reminder of yesterday’s big news
Everton have released a statement after the Premier League referred the club to an independent commission for an “alleged breach” of profit and sustainability rules.
The Blues expressed their “disappointment” with the decision and said they were “ready to defend their position strongly to the Commission”.
Everton’s full statement read: “Everton Football Club is disappointed to hear of the Premier League’s decision to refer an allegation of breach of profit and sustainability regulations to an independent commission for review.
“The Club firmly denies the allegation of non-compliance and, together with its independent team of experts, are absolutely confident in its continued compliance with all financial rules and regulations.
“Everton stands ready to vigorously defend its position before the Commission. The club have provided information to the Premier League in an open and transparent manner for a number of years and have made a conscious choice to act fairly at all times.
“The club will not be making any further comments at this time.”
