Fantasy Football Week 2 Running Back Rankings: How to handle Alvin Kamara’s injury

There are a lot Injuries we’re tracking for week 2 while running back, and they will force fantasy football players to make some tough decisions. We already know JK Dobbins is unlikely to play and you shouldn’t have planned to use him in his first game after suffering a cruciate ligament rupture so hopefully that doesn’t change your plans but Alvin Kamara’s expected absence might be.

If you’re lucky, you’ll have an obvious replacement for Kamara in the form of Mark Ingram. Ingram is expected to play despite picking up an ankle injury during the week and while he’s not a one-for-one replacement for Kamara, he reckons he’ll have a pretty stellar role to play this week – him started and finished two games without Kamara last season and had 30 carries and 15 targets. This will play.

Ingram is more like an RB2 to me, despite the likely workload, simply because this is an incredibly tough matchup against the Buccaneers. But if Kamara is out as expected, Ingram should be a solid start, better than the Kenyan Drake with no Dobbins or any of the Jets or Jaguars running back tandems.
