Flemington Preview: He's Ready to Earn His Accolades
ENVER Jusufovic has endured a frustrating period with his stable star, Pinstriped, but he’s hoping his class will shine at Saturday’s VJA Winter Championship Trophy (1600m) in Flemington.

Pinstriped has not competed since returning to the winners circle with his impressive 1600m win at Sandown Lakeside on April 15th.

Pinstriped was recently scratched after the pre-race RV stewards felt he was not placed at the correct training ground and they pulled him out.

“He also missed an Anzac Day run, so now he’s missed a few starts. There are five or six weeks between runs, which is not ideal. I think I’ve kept him updated but the only concern is the five weeks between runs,” Jusufovic told RSN on Friday morning.

Ben Allen is back and apart from the delay between rounds I’m pretty confident.”

The Cranbourne manager said the main threat would be Gavin Bedgood-trained Keats, who was fit and should roll up front.

Pinstriped is a favorite at TopSport for $2.40. Keats costs $3.50.,

“But I have the best horse in the race,” he explained.

Jusufovic said he expected Pinstriped’s stablemate Vongole to be fresh in a big race in the 3AW sprint (1100m). It costs $21 at TopSport.
