Gamescom 2022 schedule: How to watch Opening Night Live stream

Gamescom is finally upon us, returning as a physical event for the first time in a while, taking place from August 24th to 28th in Cologne, Germany. RPS will be there in person, but there are plenty of additional streams and announcements to watch from the comfort of your own home, including Gamescom Opening Night Live, another edition of The Future Games Show and more.

Below we break down the highlights of the Gamescom 2022 schedule, how and where to watch Opening Night Live and the other shows remotely, and remind you of some other gaming industry summits happening this August that are worth watching , to be added to your calendar too.


How to watch the Gamescom 2022 opening night live stream

As hosted by Geoff Keighley, Gamescom 2022 Opening Night Live will be available to watch on The Game Awards’ official YouTube and Twitch channels. Reporting begins on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. BST / 8:00 p.m. CEST / 2:00 p.m. EDT / 11:00 a.m. PDT.


Highlights from Opening Night Live will also be available on Gamescom’s official YouTube and Twitch channels, but the Game Awards channels are the place to be for those wanting to watch the whole thing live.


Here’s how to watch the Future Games Show Gamescom 2022

The Future Games Show also returns for another outing at Gamescom and will continue to air Wednesday, August 24 at 7:00 PM BST / 8:00 PM CEST / 2:00 PM ET / 11:00 AM PT to the YouTube and Twitch channels for GamesRadar.

The show will feature an additional 50 games, including games from publishers such as 505 Games and Team17, and will be hosted by God Of War voice actors Christopher Judge (Kratos) and Danielle Bisutti (Freya). Other games teased so far also suggest it will definitely be one horror game fans will want to keep an eye on as we expect news on Layers Of Fears, The Devil In Me, The Fabulous Fear Machine and The Chant, and Lightyear Frontier. Ereban: Shadow Legacy and Goat Simulator 3.

Over 500 developers, studios and other exhibitors from the games industry will take part in Gamescom 2022. While the return of the in-person event means that not everything happening on the exhibition floor will be livestreamed this time, you can follow the biggest showcases on YouTube and Twitch. That Xbox Booth Live will also run for six hours on Thursday, and you can dive into it via Xbox’s own YouTube and Twitch channels.
