Genesis Sports to diversify their involvement in various sporting games

Genesis Sports Limited is keen to further spread its wings to continue its involvement in other sports disciplines in other regions outside of the central part of Kenya.
The organisation, which essentially supports swimming activities in the Mt. Kenya region, says it will start prioritizing its investments in other games such as football and rugby.
According to its chief of operations, Bilhah Wangui, the move aims to advocate for the development of the entire sports industry in line with President William Ruto’s agenda to use the “hustler” approach to empower young people interested in inspire the sport.
“We have received massive interest from most stakeholders in several parts of the country who have indicated their willingness to work with us and as a result we are taking their concerns into account and will soon be launching a nationwide program aimed at supporting sporting initiatives beyond that Swimming, which is already being adopted, especially here in Kiambu, Nyeri and other areas,” he said
Last week, the company announced an agreement to invest in local football activities in order to promote the growth of the game in the country in line with the Football Kenya Association’s policy of developing the sport in line with FIFA guidelines, the world football governing body.
“Football has really lagged behind in our county despite the availability of massive talent remaining untapped and as such we want to work with relevant stakeholders to unlock the potential in the area by supporting age-appropriate football which is the foundation for the success of any sport forms. We will leave no stone unturned in our quest to fuel the overall growth of the game in Kiambu,” noted Bilhah
President William Ruto has reiterated his administration’s agenda to establish a high-level expert task force to identify sustainable sources of sports funding, considering a national lottery, fiscal incentives for corporate sponsorships, a special or earmarked tax and a public-private partnership structure for development the infrastructure.
They plan to expand the National Youth Talent Academy (NYTA) to all sports, replicate it to the county level, and establish a County Sports Talent Academy that can identify talent and provide necessary sponsorship support.
Genesis Sports believes that the agenda of promoting county leagues and inter-county athletic championships while establishing a compassionate (benevolent) fund for sports heroes is progressive and should be supported by all relevant stakeholders in the game.
