Gone But Not Forgotten quest guide in Destiny 2 | How to complete Gone But Not Forgotten
destiny 2‘s Festival of the Lost began with several elements from last year’s Festival of the Lost, including the name of the introductory quest. In Gone But Not Forgotten, players wade through Haunted Sectors, which is the core activity of the event.
The Festival of the Lost introductory quest gives you an overview of the systems involved in the Halloween event, starting with Eva Levante, the resident event vendor and arguably the best space granny in destiny 2. Gone But Not Forgotten shows players what the Festival of the Lost is all about: finding Spectral Pages, turning them into Manifested Pages, and giving them to the Book of Forgotten in the Tower – all while stocking up on candy so they can buy goody bags by Eva Levante for a chance at event-specific loot.
While the introductory quest is easy and shouldn’t take long, making a mistake early in Festival of the Lost 2022 could also jeopardize players’ progress at the risk of getting stuck on the first quest until Bungie comes up with a fix for it. Here’s how to complete Gone But Not Forgotten – and why you might be having trouble with it.
How to complete Gone But Not Forgotten in destiny 2‘s Feast of the Lost
The first step in Gone But Not Forgotten is to go to the tower and talk to Eva Levante, who will give you a mask for this year’s Festival of the Lost. A mask is essentially a helmet, although it only wears one level of power while the event is active. During the Festival of the Lost, players can use certain mask adornments that are not applicable to normal helmets. You’ll also need to don a mask to earn Spectral Pages – and more importantly, to advance the Gone But Not Forgotten quest.
Put your mask on and speak to Eva Levante again so she can give you an overview of the event systems. She will also give you a Spectral Page, which you must take to a Haunted Sector to advance the quest.
The next step in Gone But Not Forgotten is completing a summoning ritual, which is a mechanic in Haunted Sectors. After killing a few enemies, you’ll see a circle with a countdown over it. Stand on the summoning ritual until it ends like capturing a point in Control to spawn a mini-boss called Headless One. You need to spawn 10 Headless Ones to complete a Haunted Sector, so players should familiarize themselves with the mechanics if they plan to blast through Festival of the Lost content.
Capturing manifested pages
Manifested Pages are essential for the seasonal activity loop in Festival of the Lost, especially if you want to complete all of the event challenges. They can only be obtained by turning Spectral Pages into Manifest Pages after killing at least one Headless and completing a Haunted Sector. However, the more Headless Ones you kill, the bigger your payout in Manifested Pages. To continue in Gone But Not Forgotten you need to complete the Haunted Sector, which shouldn’t cause much trouble, although making a mistake could stop your progress.
Add your manifested pages to the Forgotten Book
After completing the Haunted Sector, return to Eva Levante so she can teach you about the Manifested Sides. She will ask you to add your manifested pages to the Book of the Forgotten, which is on Eva Levante’s right (to her left). Your manifested pages will unlock a few lore books and are also required for some event challenges. After adding the page, open your Quests tab and locate the Festival of the Lost event card in the top right of your Quests tab. Accept the Cryptozoologist challenge to start the celebrations and unlock the actual event challenges to complete. Talk to Eva again to complete the quest and receive a Mechabre Sniper Rifle Scroll as a gift.
Why isn’t the Gone But Not Forgotten quest progressing?
However, if you’re stuck at step five, you’ve probably encountered an error that’s preventing you from turning your Spectral Pages into Manifested Pages. Bungie is investigating the issue, according to its support page, although the developers have not given a date for the fix. It’s also unclear what players can do to resolve this issue, although the reason players are stuck is likely on Bungie’s part. That means they have little to do except wait for a resolution. It’s unclear if Bungie will also compensate players for the missed Manifest Pages.
