This article explains how to add a credit card to PayPal. These instructions apply to both debit cards and credit cards.

The good news is that adding a card to your PayPal account takes just a few steps and can be done in minutes. However, you must have your card physically by your side first.

If you have a PayPal balance, you can use your balance and then pay the balance with your credit card during the checkout process.

1. Go to dashboard on PayPal’s website.

   
   

2. On the right side of the page under the Credit and Debit Cards In the section, click the box titled Link a card.

3. Fill out yours card number, expiry date, security codeand address at the formular.

   Make sure you enter your address correctly or your card will be declined during checkout. Billing addresses aren’t always the same as shipping addresses, so make sure you know which address is linked to your card.

4. click Save on computerand you can shop with your credit card at PayPal.

   And don’t worry about losing Rewards Points, Miles or Cashback Rewards either, as you can receive them directly in PayPal.

5. If you want to remove a card from PayPal, just return to the same page and click To editand then click remove card. After that, it is no longer tied to your account.

   
   

Tips and tricks for adding credit cards to PayPal

You can still transfer money to your PayPal (i.e. from a linked bank account) and use that money in conjunction with or in place of a credit card.

Also remember that using a debit card to make a purchase with PayPal is different than linking the same checking account your debit card is linked to, although you can use either to pay.

Once you’ve linked a card to PayPal, you can start making a purchase, but you don’t do it directly with PayPal. So you should consider linking your PayPal account to a service like eBay to use it.
