How to Add Deezer to Your Amazon Echo
If you own an Amazon Echo, you probably use it to listen to music. And if so, you’ve probably noticed that it plays music from the Amazon Music service by default. But that doesn’t always have to be the case. There are other options.
In fact, Alexa can play music from a variety of streaming services. This includes Deezer. So if you have a premium subscription to this service, you can simply link it to your Echo to enjoy all your favorite artists and playlists. We’ll show you how.
Connect your Amazon Echo to Deezer
First of all, you should know that there is a way to stream any type of music from your phone through the Echo device. Once you connect your phone to Alexa via Bluetooth, you can open your Deezer, Spotify, YouTube or even just a browser and play the music on the Echo.
However, if you don’t want to rely on your phone every time you play music, your best bet is to connect directly to Deezer.
Even if your Echo is connected to a Bluetooth speaker, it can’t be connected to your phone at the same time. That means you need to link a music service directly to it. Here’s how you do it:
- Say the command “Alexa, play music on Deezer”.
- At this point, the device responds. To play Deezer, activate the skill and link your account. I sent the details to your Alexa mobile app.
- Tap the Alexa notification on your phone, which should open the Alexa app. Download it for iOS or Android if you don’t have it.
- Beat Enable.
- Enter your credentials or press Continue if you are already logged in.
- Your account is now linked.
Once this process is complete you will have to indicate that you want the music from Deezer as it is not the default service. For example, you need to say, “Alexa, play my Flow on Deezer.” However, you can also set the service as the default service on your Echo device.
- Open the Alexa app on your phone and tap More at the bottom.
- Beat settings.
- Scroll down and tap Music & Podcasts.
- Choose standard devices.
- Change all devices for on this page deezer.
