After two pretty challenging boss fights Lovecraft’s Untold Stories 2 take a step back and slow down a bit. Wendigo and Atlach-Nacha were monstrous enemies themselves, so a break is definitely due. For this down period, you can turn off the relatively mundane Barazai’s Guardian.
Barazai’s Guardian isn’t that big, not that fast, and not that powerful. It’s a straightforward fight with an enemy that has just enough clout to take you out if you get cocky, but not enough to attack a player who’s prepared. Barazai’s Guardian is just a meaty beatstick.
Attacks from Barzai’s Guardian
Barzai’s Guardian only has one Attack, but this is made up for in other ways (see mechanics). Barazai’s Guardian will approach you and try hit you. When the punch lands, take a powerful one a bunch of damageand you’re stunned. This stun can be devastating as it can result in more damage, especially when surrounded by The minions of Barazai’s Guardians.
Mechanics of the Guardian of Barzai
Speaking of minions, This fight starts with a bunch of Red Cultists scattered around the arena. These guys will Summon monsters and tentacles getting in your way and dealing (mostly) acid damage. We noticed that these cultists were being summoned more often than normalbut they died just as quickly as a normal enemy.
The trick to this mechanic is Kill all cultists. They don’t respawn, so once they’re dead they’re gone. This reduces the number of enemies you have to deal with through the summoning mechanic. Not only that, once the last cultist is killed, Barazai’s Guardian is stunned for a long time.
Which character to use
This fight requires mobility and Damage more than anything else. For this reason the detective and Witch are an excellent choice. They both have great damage and their roll/teleport lets them get around the arena effectively. Especially the witch can go straight Avoid most obstacles included.
battle strategy
The strategy here is to pursue the cultists immediately. Use every trick you have to close the distance and assassinate each of them. when the last one is dead Focus all your fire on Barazai’s Guardian. Barazai’s Guardian doesn’t have much HP, so concentrated fire is devastating – especially when it is stunned and unable to move.
It is possible to kill Barazai’s Guardian during this stun period, ending the fight before he can land a single punch. When Barazai’s Guardian recovers, use your mobility tools to keep your distance and chop off the last of his HP.
