Needless to say, there is a lot to explore here. But don’t worry, although it’s easy to get lost in The Cite, this guide will do its best to keep you informed. Now it’s time to step into the flames of Les Halles.

THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Les Halles

As soon as you turn the corner on the left, you enter Les Halles. You are immediately greeted by a new automaton variant. We call it the Combustible Panther Automat. Similar to the regular Panther automaton, these robots are fast and have lunge attacks, but are easily staggered. The big difference here is that the Combustible Panthers also like to explode themselves. That’s correct; When they start glowing, you know it’s time to dodge.

After dealing with the two combustible panthers, you’ll enter an open-air market with stalls all around and a large fountain in the center. There are a lot of vending machines. This also includes the new fencing machine. The fencing machine is the same as the simplest machines that the game has the offer, but You have access to parry. Whenever they strike a pose waiting for you to attack, they are in their parrying stance. If you accidentally hit them while they are in this stance, don’t worry, you can dodge and dodge their counterstrike.

In addition to the fencing machine, there will be a ball and chain machine and several lancer machines in the center of the court. There is also a Lancer positioned on one of the stable roofs that circle this area; They will fire their cannons at you while you compete against the other robots. There are more Combustible Panthers, Lancers, and Snake-Bodied Automats positioned around this area. By the time you leave this town square you will have cleared about a dozen of them.

You should work your way around the perimeter, picking up treats as you go. There are no treasure chests, but you will find a number of useful consumables scattered around. Go to the corner of the market where the Lancer standing on the roof is. Jump on the crates nearby and jump over the wall; Here you can open a gate. If you want to exit the market, look for a platform floating in the top left. Jump up and climb over the roofs of the stalls to get to the exit. From there, follow the streets and you will come to Place Saint-Merri.

Place Saint Merri

Once you get here, you’ll have to fight two fencing machines, as well as a whole new type of machine. This one looks like an automaton that lost its legs. It walks around on his arms. But don’t let that fool you, it’s surprisingly fast. It has a slam attack and a spin attack, and much like the Combustible Panther Automats, this new guy will lunge at you and self-destruct. We will call this new enemy a Longing Automat. Just dodge it, smack it in the back, and when it starts to glow, run away.

Once you’ve cleared the vending machines, look around until you see a structure with some debris next to it. Now climb onto the structure; This results in a rough bridge of planks. Follow the bridge, climb onto the balconies and enter the apartment above.

You will speak to Julien Raimond. He will tell you to see the bishop. Exit the apartment through the balcony and follow it until you enter the Quartier de Sainte-Opportune.

Quartier De Sainte Opportune

Drop down and fight the Longing Automat. Walk down the street though Danger! Behind the cart on your right is a snake-bodied machine. Keep following the road and you’ll come across more automatons as well as some fencing machines. Follow the street around and you’ll walk straight into it a chest containing a Tier 1 Frost Module and a Module Key.

Just around the corner from the chest you will encounter your first forger in the wild. Yes, the Les Invalides boss will now spawn as a normal enemy. Thankfully, they’re a little less resilient in their non-boss form. Watch out when fighting this one, as there’s a Lancer further down the road that will fire its cannon at you as you fight the hulking brute.

Once you’ve eliminated the two, you’ll find a passage near where the Lancer was positioned. The passage will lead you to a small courtyard where there is another Lancer and two Combustible Panthers. Clean them up, open the gate and climb the structure next to the gate. It leads you through an apartment and over several balconies. Eventually you will find yourself in another courtyard. Drop down along the various structures until you are back on the ground floor. Now eliminate the fencer and lunger crowded around the tree.

Leave this courtyard and follow the path. Once you turn the corner with the fire raging, you will find yourself on a long stretch of road with a fencer, an axe-wielding automaton and at the other end a lancer that shoots at you. Pull the fencer back around the corner and finish him off. Then zigzag towards the Lancer and deal with her next. Finally, take out the lowly axeman. Now climb up the ramp, jump over the wall and you will witness a cutscene. From here, activate the Vestal Virgin and open the gate (it will take you to the Forger Automat).

It’s also worth noting that there is a civilian side quest in this area. In one of the houses on the way to the gate, a woman will speak to you. She will ask you to find her son. Keep talking to her until you’ve exhausted all dialogue options. You cannot complete this side quest until you defeat the Bishop of Cite.

Pont Neuf

Now go to the edge of the ruined bridge, drop and Take the Lavoisier Sublimator from the chest. From here, drop down to the pier, hop over the boats and take out the Forger Automat. Don’t climb the stairs yet; Go under the bridge instead. To your right, a snake-bodied machine is hiding behind debris. Take them out, then open the chest to grab them Grade 1 Unstable Essence Module and Module Key. Now go back and go up the stairs.

Turn off the lunger and the lancer. Now look for a carriage with a balcony above, hop in the carriage, enter the apartment and jump down into the unstable butcher’s domain.

The unstable butcher boss fight

When battling the unstable butcher, there are few things you really need to pay attention to. for starters, If it folds its arms and stands still for a moment, it is about to charge forward. This is the only way the unstable butcher can reduce the distance. Otherwise, this is a pretty clumsy boss. The other thing to look for is the buzzsaw attack. When the Butcher starts using this attack, you should gain some distance if you’re not already behind it. The sparks will hit you and set you on fire! In addition, and this is important Never use an attack move while performing their buzzsaw attack. You will Not If you blow it through, you will be blown to pieces by the saw and will likely die. Respect the circular saw!

Aside from that, the unstable butcher only takes huge hacks that deal a lot of damage when they hit. Your shield won’t be particularly useful here, as many of these swings are incredibly heavy. Instead, you’ll want to dodge them and attack his back. If the butcher raises his arm in the air, the next attack will be a vertical slash, and if they move their arm to the side, it will be an expansive horizontal cut. A fully charged halberd or hammer blow will knock this boss out. Just keep grabbing her back and you’ll be fine.

And, of course, in case you’re wondering, there’s a well-known method to cheese the unstable butcher. The cheap way to defeat the Unstable Butcher is to shoot it with your Shield Musket, then when it’s frozen, smash it with a fully charged attack. Rinse and repeat until dead

Once you defeat the Unstable Butcher, you’ll get the Tier 1 Reinforced Armor Module and a Module Key. There is a treasure chest nearby that contains the Citizens Cylinder and Carmagnole. The other chest will be locked (for now). You can also climb to an apartment above to get the Hephaestus batons and the Grade 2 Swiftness Module from a chest.

Now leave this place and go to the water. You are on the banks of the Seine. From here, fight the Fencer Automat, climb the stairs, take out the Lancer and Forger Automats, then activate the Vestal Virgin nearby. It’s time to prepare for battle with the first titan: the Bishop of the Cite. For more information on this boss fight, click the link below!
