How To Craft In Hokko Life
Do you love indie games with cozy atmosphere, relaxed gameplay and crafting mechanics? Then Hokko Life is the game for you! For a while, Hokko life was only available in early access but now it’s officially released and there’s a lot to learn as everything has been perfected over time.
Crafting is one of the most complex features of the game. There are different types of objects and structures that you can build, and Hokko Life’s design tool is incredibly liberating and versatile, allowing players to let their mind and imagination run wild.
The workshop
Sally’s workshop is one of the first stores that you can unlock in the game, along with it you will unlock the ability to craft. She has a few different crafting stations in the workshop that you’re free to use as you please, provided you’re the one doing all the hard work around the location.
As you process in Hokko Life, You will unlock the ability to craft objects from crafting recipes and blueprints, you can also design and paint objects. You can do all of this by using the Crafting Station and Design Table.
crafting station
The crafting station is the first part of the workshop that you gain access to. Sally gives you permission to use it whenever you want. The Crafting Station is not as difficult to use as the Design Table. It’s very simple and works like any traditional crafting table in any other game – if you have a crafting recipe, you simply have to walk up to it, interact with it and craft it.
At the crafting station you can create and craft simpler things, for example you can turn iron ore into steel or logs into planks. You can craft useful things like paint, dye, fences, and tools.
You can unlock more recipes for the crafting station by talking to the villagers and asking them if they have any wishes for yousometimes they will ask you to make them a certain item and give you the recipes. Sally also sells recipes, just talk to her and select the “buy stuff” option.. More crafting recipes will become available in the Carpenter Shop as you progress through the game.
design table
The design table has various tools that allow players to unleash their creativity. Here, players are free to paint and use shapes to create different objects as long as they follow the rules of each blueprint. There are three options on the design table, here’s what they are for:
- Blueprint Book: If you select the blueprint book, you can see anything you have an existing design for, and then you can either create a standard version of it (a copy of Sally’s blueprint) or customize it
- Backpack: When you select the backpack, you can edit a design for something you already have in your backpack, or you can make an exact copy of it
- Draft: If you choose the blueprint, you can create your own version of any blueprint of the objects you already have in your blueprint book.
The blueprint book will be available during your first few days in the game as you will need to build a bridge to reach the other side of the river. However, this is not the case with the other two styling options. If you’re wondering why you’ve already made so much in the game and they aren’t available yet, then You should talk to your villagers more often.
You don’t get a specific quest that gives you access to it, you’ll use it slowly throughout the game. It’s talking to the villagers who are already in town that will unlock these features. They will ask you about certain things, like fixing a broken item and changing the design of some furniture. These requests serve as handy tutorials to help you understand how to work with all of the design table features.
Creating new objects
Crafting your own items from a blueprint is the main attraction of Hokko Life’s crafting system, which is what makes it so fun. Using this option, you can craft whatever you want as long as you follow the blueprint rules.
Most blueprints only have one rule, which is a maximum size limit. However, other things, like lights, have specific requirements, in this case, for example, you need to use a lightbulb when creating one.
After unlocking the blueprint option at the design table, you can buy piece packs in the Carpenter Shop (when you interact with Sally and ask her to sell you stuff.)
Each pack sells different shapes and they also come in different materials. You can then create whatever you want with these shapes, you can rotate them, resize them and add more. The possibilities are endless, you can put together packs and create all sorts of decorations for the village and your home.
Each time you use a shape in a piece pack when creating an object, you use a unit of the required material. Make sure you have enough of each material before you start creating.
city center
City Center is all about creating and sharing your best designs. You can buy a ticket to visit the city center at the train station (don’t worry, it only costs 50 coins).
There you can upload your creations and have your own shop or visit other people’s shops and download theirs.
Go to the city center and then enter the building in the middle of the city. You will see a blue elephant named Paula with an elevator behind her.
If you haven’t unlocked it yet, you’ll need to continue in the game. You can visit Hokko Life’s town center after getting all available design features in the workshop.

Or, You can check out the game’s best creations on display in the building on the west side of the city center. Craft challenges
The west building is always worth a visit when you are in the city center. You can interact with the terminal in the building to participate in the Creator Challenge that is happening at that time. Check out the topic to see if it interests you. If so, you can try your best to create a themed design.
Just make sure you make a submission before the deadline. Then if you win your The design will be displayed inside the building for all to see and players from all over the world will download your item to have in their cities.
When downloading an item from a Hokko Creator, it will be delivered in-game to the player’s mailbox the following day.
