How to create your own YouTube channel in minutes

You need to sign up for a Google account
You must have a valid Google account to create a YouTube channel. Creating a Google account gives you access to dozens of apps like Google Docs, Gmail, Google Photos, and of course, YouTube.
How to create your own YouTube channel
Once you have a Google account, creating a YouTube channel is a breeze. Go through the following steps.
- Visit YouTube on the web and sign in with your Google account information.
- Click on your circular profile picture (or initials) in the top right corner and open it settings.
- Choose Create a new channel in the Your Channel menu. If you have a YouTube channel, open it Add or manage channel(s)..
- Check your existing channels. Choose Create a channel.
- Enter the name of your YouTube channel, upload a profile picture (if your Google account doesn’t have one) and click Create Button.
That’s it. You have successfully created a new YouTube channel. You can select your Google account profile picture and go to YouTube Studio to see the channel dashboard in action.
How to customize your YouTube channel
Before you start uploading videos to your YouTube channel, let’s liven things up a bit. A profile photo, custom header, and watermark will help your channel stand out. Here’s a quick overview to get you started.
- Visit YouTube on desktop and select your profile picture in the top right corner.
- Choose your channel.
- click Customize channel.
- Under the layout Menu, upload a channel trailer for people who haven’t subscribed.
- Switch to the branding and change your YouTube channel profile picture that appears next to your videos and comments. Upload a banner image and video watermark.
- Slide on the basic the information and enter the name and description of the channel. Your name and description represent you and your content. It has to be just right. The channel description appears in the About section of your channels and search results.
- Enter contact information so others know how to contact you with business inquiries.
- Choose Publish button in the top right corner and your YouTube channel is ready to go.
Can I create a second YouTube channel?
It’s common for YouTubers to have more than one YouTube channel, each for specific needs. After all, you don’t want to upload your travel vlogs to your business YouTube channel. You can create another YouTube channel under the same Google ID. You will find the Add or manage channel(s). Option in YouTube settings menu (see above) to create another channel.
