How to Delete Apps on an iPhone

Deleting an app on an iPhone

iOS 14 or newer
This method applies to iOS 14, iOS 15, and the brand new iOS 16 that launched alongside the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. From the home screen:
- Long press on the app you want to delete.
- wait for one pop-up menu appear below the app.
- Choose Remove app.
- Beat Delete app.
If you want to delete multiple apps, you can also:
- press and hold on the wallpaper.
- wait till you see Apps and widgets tremble.
- Tap the minus sign on every application you want to delete.
- Choose Remove app.
- Choose Delete app.
- Repeat these steps for other apps you want to delete.
There is a chance that the app you want to delete is not on your home screen. You can still delete apps from the App Library by following the steps below:
- Press and hold an app you want to delete.
- Choose Delete app from the pop-up menu.
- Beat Extinguish confirm.
iOS 13
Deleting apps on iOS 13 is easy by following these steps:
- Long press on the app you want to delete.
- Beat Rearrange apps.
- Press the red “x” after the apps start to shake.
- Choose Extinguish confirm.
iOS 12 or older
To delete apps on iOS 12 you need to:
- Press and hold any app on the home screen.
- press the “x” on the app you want to delete after the symbols tremble.
- Beat Extinguish confirm.
