Power Shot Tips and Tricks for FIFA 23
We have put together a few tips for you so that you can score more points with Power Shots:
- To cancel a power shot, instead press the pass or through ball button to take the ball to a teammate when you think the shot might go wide or be blocked by a defender.
- Make sure you only attempt a power shot (if you’re trying to score) while leaving enough room around the player you’re controlling. It might only last a second or two longer than a normal shot, but that time is precious when trying to shoot, and defenders will become more aggressive towards the player executing a power shot, reducing your chance of a clear line to the gate decreased .
- Because defenders are drawn to those attempting a power shot, you can actually lure them to a player, then abort the shot and pass to another teammate, creating an even better scoring opportunity. We recommend using a through ball near the box to cancel the power shot and prime another teammate to score when using this method.
- You can still timed shots while performing a power shot! Before a player kicks the ball after the power shot animation, press the button to shoot again and the icon above a player will flash green when successful. Just keep in mind that it’s a lot harder to hit a timed shot this way and it may take you some time to perfect it.
- You can time a power shot when the ball is chipped or lobbed your way (even from a free kick) so that if you release the shot button when the ball reaches it, the player will immediately power shot. This means the animation will happen before you have the ball, speeding up the power shot process.
- Since the Power Shot has taken over the input for low shots, to perform a low shot in FIFA 23 you need to hold down the shot button as usual and then charge it up to around 20-30%.
