How to Fix Hero Challenges Not Appearing

With Overwatch 2’s business model shifting from standard buy-to-play to free-to-play, Blizzard Entertainment has also changed how you unlock the game’s heroes. The first-time user experience system gives newcomers a smaller pool of playable heroes and must play matches to unlock more of the roster; For example, you need to play two unranked games to unlock D.Va. However, for some reason the Hero tab appears in the Challenges menu where you can see yours surveillance 2 Unlocking progress can cause blanks to appear and people are now looking for a solution.

Hero challenges not showing up and how to fix them in Overwatch 2

I hate being the bearer of bad news, but the Hero Challenges not showing up seems to be a server issue and there’s nothing we can do to fix it. This problem seems to be widespread, and tons of players on both the subreddit and the over watch Support forum have reported that they keep encountering the problem. While it mostly concerned the existing over watch Players who have attempted to merge their accounts between platforms can also encounter this server-based error, new players. But it’s not all darkness and doom!

Thankfully, although you can’t see anything on the Hero Challenges page, Blizzard has confirmed that your data is safe, and the game still will Track your progress. Read the company’s official confirmation below or in the status update forum post.

Account Merge Issues (Missing Player Items/Data)
Tl;dr: You haven’t lost any items or progress, although some players log in and find that some/all items are missing from their collection.

[…] We found that in about half of the reported cases, the cause of this discrepancy is that players have not yet completed their account merger […] In the other half of the reported cases for this issue, items from the original are simply taking longer than expected over watch transfer and fill surveillance 2. In all cases, no player data was deleted or lost.

Incorrectly banned heroes and items for existing players
This is an issue separate from account merging, but the player experience is the same as above, where heroes and items that should be unlocked for existing players are shown as locked. These cases are almost certainly related to our new First Time User Experience (FTUE) flow being incorrectly applied to existing players.

While there is no real way to fix the Hero Challenges menu not showing issue, some surveillance 2 Players claimed that Restart the game and log in again could help repeatedly. Finally, running the game again will refresh your connection to the server, and by that time your account details may have been properly synced.
