How to Get ESPN Plus for UFC 279

UFC superstar Nate Diaz returns to the Octagon for the first time in over a year to take on rising undefeated welterweight Khamzat Chimaev in UFC 279.

The pay-per-view game will be exclusive to ESPN Plus subscribers, meaning you’ll need a $10-per-month ESPN Plus subscription to even register for the event. The service is included in the $14 Disney package, which includes Disney Plus and Hulu. UFC 279 will then cost a one-time fee of $75.

ESPN Plus offers live out-of-market NHL hockey games as well as many others live sports like MLS soccer (until Apple’s deal enters into force in 2023), baseball and golf. It’s also home to exclusive shows like Peyton’s Places with Peyton Manning and the massive 30-for-30 library. Some ufc Matches are part of the subscription, but many of the biggest fights are PPV and usually require an additional fee.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to signing up for ESPN Plus so you can watch every second of UFC 279.

Step 1: Go to the ESPN Plus website

If you go to ESPN Plus, you’ll likely be taken to a sign-up page pushing the Disney bundle. If you just want ESPN Plus, click the small one Subscribe to ESPN+ only link, or look for a similar link on the site if it takes you elsewhere.

Step 2: Create your ESPN Plus account

You will be taken to a page where you enter your name and email address. You must also create a password that you use to log into the service. Fill out your information and click on the yellow registration Button.

Step 3: Choose a plan and enter your credit card details

Now you will be taken to a page where you need to choose either a monthly or yearly subscription. While both subscription types provide full access to all live sports and other programming on ESPN Plus, Only the $10 monthly plan has exclusive articles and fantasy tools on the ESPN website and app.

The $100 annual subscription is already highlighted when you land on the page Make sure you click on monthly subscription if you want this.

Enter your credit card information, press the Recognize click and click Buy ESPN Plus.

Step 4: Sign up and pay for UFC 279

A confirmation of your purchase will appear to thank you for logging in. Hit the yellow Getting started Button to start streaming on ESPN Plus. Now you should be able to catch all of the action from ESPN Plus.

From here you need to sign up for UFC 279. Despite the fact that ESPN Plus currently devotes a large portion of its homepage to promoting the fight, there’s no easy way to sign up for UFC 279 directly through ESPN Plus’ website if you’re using a browser online.

We were able to find the login page on a Roku device and on iOS by going to settings in the ESPN Plus tab of the ESPN app. From there, scroll down and click subscriptions. You should now see a yellow Buy UFC 279 button. Clicking on this will take you to a screen with the date, time and price of the event and another yellow button Buy UFC 279. Clicking on this will charge your account and give you access to the event.

ESPN Plus has yet to comment on how the subscription can be purchased through a web browser.
