Despite the hard work required to get and keep them, Ringtail Slimes are worth it not only for the valuable resources they provide, but also for their charming personalities and cutesy aesthetic. Here’s everything the player needs to know about finding and raising these mischievous slimes.
How to get the Ringtail Slime
One of the best parts of slime breeder 2 meets the new slime types and learns about their quirks. Players looking for Ringtail Slimes must venture to Ember Valley. It’s common for first-time players to overlook Ringtail Slimes when they first encounter them while exploring during the day. Ringtail Slimes turn to stone in sunlight, so if players look for them during the day, all they’ll find are statues. At night, the Ringtail Slimes transform back into their true selves, allowing the player to catch them.
If the player doesn’t want to wait until dark, they can also pick up a Ringtail Slime statue and bring it to a cave. Once protected from sunlight, the Ringtail Slime will revert to its natural form and the player can pick it up and return it to the observatory. To prevent captured Ringtail Slimes from turning to stone during the day, the player must upgrade their corral with a sun shield.
How to raise ringtail slime
The player doesn’t need a jetpack to farm Ringtail Slimes, but some upgrades are in order. Like pink slimes, ringtail slimes are omnivores. The player can toss fruit, meat, or vegetables into their corral and count on it being devoured. The good news is that finding food for them is a breeze, as the player can suck up a random assortment of carrots, chickens, and other foods without worrying if a picky slime will touch them.
Attention Slime Ranchers: There is a big difference between the eating habits of Pink Slimes and Ringtail Slimes. Ringtail Slimes don’t stop eating when they’re full. They also do not create additional plorts once they are full. This means the player can endlessly throw food into their corral while their winnings dwindle. Whether the player is trying to raise Batty Slimes or something simpler, it’s good to have extra food, so the Ringtail Slime’s voracious munching is a problem.
If the player only has one or two Ringtail Slimes and wants to feed them one at a time, the Ringtail Slimes’ insatiable appetite is no longer a problem. However, most players will want far more ringtails, so another solution is in order. The player can install auto-feeders in the corral to maintain a steady trickle of food without wasting too much. Optionally, the player can choose not to install a sun shield on the Ringtails’ corral, which will turn them into statues during the day and therefore eat half as much.
