Winnie, I smell cheese!

mumbo-jumbo has become a Halloween classic over the years and as a result has inspired some fun food trends, including an adorable twist on a cheese and charcuterie board.

First gaining popularity in October 2020, the mumbo-jumbo Charcuterie Board has been replicated by many fans over the years. And with the recent release of Disney+ Hocus pocus 2 The trend will be presented again on September 30th.

Luckily, the board is pretty easy to put together and interchangeable depending on your food preferences. Most often it consists of three wheels of brie cheese representing the three Sanderson sisters, with a mix of various other edibles for their hair and costumes.

If you’re hoping to create the magical treat for your next Halloween movie night with friends, you’re in luck as we’ve broken down the key ingredients for each Sanderson sister below.

Ingredients you need for the Winifred mumbo-jumbo sausage board

You should start with a brie cheese wheel to represent Winifred’s face, which you’ll then decorate with sliced olives for the eyes and some sort of red fruit for the lips – usually either strawberries or raspberries. You can also make a fruit snack to showcase Winifred’s pursed lips.

To create Winifred’s iconic red updo, salami or hot peppers should do the trick. You’ll probably want to roll them up and hold them together with toothpicks to really capture their topknots.

Finally, for the outfit, you want some sort of green food to mimic her dress from the movie. Here you can get creative and use anything from kiwi to green grapes.

Ingredients you need for the Maria mumbo-jumbo sausage board

For the base, start with a brie cheese wheel to represent Mary’s face along with sliced olives for her eyes and red fruit for her lips. You can also make Twizzlers if you want a candy snack for the board!

For Mary’s hair, take either blackberries or blueberries, forming next to the right side of the cheese wheel and sprinkled over it to replicate her side ponytail.

For Mary’s outfit, you can sprinkle some orange slices on the bottom of the cheese wheels to replicate her orange and maroon dress. Grapes work too, if that’s more your thing!

Ingredients you need for the Sarah mumbo-jumbo sausage board

Like the other Sanderson sisters, start with a brie cheese wheel to represent Sarah’s face, along with sliced olives for her eyes and red fruit for her lips.

For her hair, consider cutting blocks of white cheese next to the brie wheel that depicts her long, wavy blonde locks in the film.

Since Sarah has a similar appearance to Mary, you’ll want to differentiate which foods you use for each of them so the colors aren’t too similar. Darker grapes work as well as sliced strawberries.
