How To Recruit Chappleman In The DioField Chronicle

With the sixth chapter of The DioField Chronicle, you are going to be treated with a megaton of Side Missions. The amount on offer here dwarfs every other chapter in the game. Easily. This is, in some ways, the last hurrah for Side Missions in The DioField Chronicle. As Chapter 7 barely has any.

We are going to start by running our troops up the left side of the map, and targeting the Archers. Don’t worry, the Soldier will follow. Then, once you take them out, head for the second group. A few AOE attacks mixed with a few of Andrias’ specials, and you will have this first wave cleared in no time.

Now, the next group will be quite a bit tougher. However, we are still going to approach these guys the same way. Run past the Soldiers and head straight for the Archers. Once everyone is grouped together, start hitting them with AOE attacks. Which will, of course, include your summons. There is one Soldier that, more or less, acts as the boss. However, once all the other baddies are cleared out, you can just use Donovar and Andrias to unload your heaviest hitting attacks on him.

Once you have completed this mission talk to Lorraine in the war room. You will get a bit of backstory about Andrias, and, more importantly, a cool 10,000 gold.

Make sure you have a mounted unit for this mission. Send your army directly at the nearest pair of archers. However, you are going to send that mounted unit to the right side of the map, gathering the attention of the soldiers and drawing them back to the main group. Once, you have all of them clustered together, bombard them with AOE attacks. Once you have finished them off, there will be a few archers left, just rush ’em and crush ’em.

Now a MUCH more sizable army will appear to the north. Swarm the Archers on the left, while, once again, gathering the attention of the other units with your mounted warrior. You are doing the exact same thing you did in the first phase, just with tougher enemies. You may want to use Andrias’ assassination attacks to weaken the Cavaliers. However, with a little sustained pressure, they will fall.

Lastly, there is a buffed up Cavalier paired with two Gigases. Rush them with your whole force. Focus on the Gigas with the crossbow, while hitting all of them with AOE attacks. These are your final foes, so use all your summons. While they are decently resilient, they only have one health bar a piece, so if you use your most potent attacks on them, you will be able to clear them out quickly enough.

Once you have concluded this mission return to the room in the south-east corner of the second floor and talk to Chappleman. You will now acquire 10,000 gold as well as your second Wyvern rider!

You are going to start this mission facing off against a large group of bandits. Your goal is to get past the Soldier units and start attacking the softer Archers in back. So, a few Mounted Charges will push all the troops into one large group. From here, you are going to hit them with Cyclones from you Wyvern Riders, Rain of Arrows from your Archers, Lance Strikes from your Cavaliers… you get the idea. Pound them with AOE attacks. While you do that, use Andias’ Assassin technique to pick off opponents.

Next step, you are going to have a group of Cavaliers on your left, a group of Archers on your right, and Mages in the center with Soldiers. Head for the Archers, the Cavaliers will come to you, and send one of your mounted units to get the attention of the Soldier and Mages. Once again, bunch them all up, and then hit them with your AOE arsenal.

In the last section, head straight for the Mages. Don’t worry, the Gigases will come to you. Once you are finished with them, the Gigases will be on you. Now, you are going to want to switch to your harder hitting single unit attacks. So, Andrias and Donovar are going to take the lead, while your other units hit them with attacks that slow them down, weaken them, or apply fire damage. Once the Gigases are dead, concentrate on the Wyvern Rider. Four on one will ensure that this moves pretty quickly.

Once you have finished the mission talk to Zoruaq and you will get 10,000 gold.

This is one of the most straightforward fights int the game. Just bunch as many of them as you dare together, and bombard them with AOE attacks. While these are all former bosses, none of them have more than a single health bar.

Made sure Andrias is in your party, and have him get behind the enemies and use his Avatar Rush on them. At this point in the game, if you have been keeping up on his gear, this attack will take away huge sections of these monsters’ life.

Once you complete the quest, talk to Izelair. She will give you 10,000 gold.

This is a long snaking path that will lead you to a number of enemy groups. Most of them are accompanied by Cannon Towers. You are always going to aim for the Cannon Tower first, then the Archers second, and finally you will target the Soldiers. Use your mounted units’ grouping attacks to cluster them together. Group around the Cannon Towers, as the Cannon Tower itself will not budge.

Once you have finished off the first wave, you will be swarmed by Archers, two Gigases, and a Knight. Take out the Archers first, then start leaning on Andrias and Donovar to hit the remaining troops with their hard-hitting attacks. This is the last phase, so feel free to unload your summons on them as well.

Talk to Catherine afterward and you will get 10,000 gold.

As we always do, we’re going to run right past those soldiers at the beginning. Kiting the Soldiers directly to the Archer. Then, we’re going to bombard the whole group with our best AOE attacks. The game throws a… unique second phase at you. It is almost entirely archers!

Having a Wyvern Rider with the Wings of the Storm attack will help you put them all in one tidy group. Then hitting them with your best AOE attacks will finish them off soon after. After that, it will be four on one against a Cavalier. With Andrias on your side, that fight should be over in a handful of seconds.

Talk to Fredret afterward. You won’t believe this, but you will get 10,000 gold! Surprise!

As we like to do in these types of encounters, we are going to focus on taking the weaker ranged units out first. Charge the group in the center, attack the Gunmen first. Finish off the Wyvern rider with Andrias. You will now be confronted by two groups, attacking from both sides. Attack the group on the left (they’re weaker) and let the group on the right come to you. Hit them with AOE attacks. Finish the Wyvern Rider off with Andrias.

In the final phase, you will have to fight a number of Gigases as well. Head straight for the Crossbow-wielding Gigas. The rest of the groups will come to you. Once the other enemy units arrive, bunch them with Cavelier or Wyvern Rider skills, then blast them with AOEs. This is the final phase, so use your summons now. Lastly, just finish off the Wyvern Rider with Andrias. At this point in the game, his Assassination skills make short work of every unit.

After the battle, talk to Umarida and obtain 10,000 gold.

The Fruits Of Banditry

Recommended Level 41
Enemies Phase 1 1x Lv 38 Archer, 2x Lv 38 Soldier, 1x Lv 40 Knight
Phase 2 1x Lv 37 Archer, 4x Lv 40 Archers, 2x Lv 41 Soldiers, 1x Lv 42 Cavalier, 1x Lv 43 Knight
Objective Defeat all enemies

The first batch of enemies you will encounter is pretty piddly. Just bunch them using your mounted unit skills. Then, kill them with AOE attacks (classic). And finally, finish off the Knight with Andrias’ attacks.

The next phase is substantially more intimidating, as there are two giants groups to fight. Attack the group on the left, but send a mounted unit to your right. They will grab the attention of all the enemies on your right. Once your unit has gotten them to chase him, bring them over to your main group. Bunch them all together and hit them with your most powerful AOE attacks (including your summons). And then finish off the stragglers with Andrias.

Back at the base, talk to Shivat and you will get another 10,000 gold

Objective Defeat all enemies

At the beginning of the battle, head straight for the Archers. By the time the rest of the army catches up to you, the Archers will be dead. Then, bunch the rest of them together. Have your units focus on the other pair of archers with their auto-attacks as you bombard the whole group with AOE attacks. All that will be left to do after a turn or two is to finish off the soldiers with Andrias.

Use the same strategy for the next batch, but split your army this time. Have your slower units fight the archers on your left, and your mounted units fight the archers on the right. The enemy Cavalry units should be arriving just as all the archers are dying. Have your unit on the left hold them off, while the mounted unit returns and attack their backside. Now, unload your best single-unit hitting attacks and summons on them.

Once the Cavaliers are dead, focus all your attention on the Knight. Just make sure he isn’t targeting Andrias (so that you can attack his back), get Andrias to his backside, and use Avatar Rush. He’ll die quickly enough.

Once you are done, go talk to Estalt and get another 10,000 gold.

Oh no… Mages. Those famously resilient enemies. How will our strapping troop of devastatingly powerful warriors—decked out in end-game gear—ever be able to face so many squishy, malnourished Mages? Should we just give up now? On a serious note, Mages die very, very quickly to physical attacks, and this first group doesn’t have any Soldiers to protect them. So, just bunch them together and whale on them. They’ll die shockingly quickly.

The next group is already bunched together, which will make your job easier. However, you will still want to hit them with one of those grouping attacks to compact them into a tight group. Hit them with summons and AOE attacks. In a turn, the Mages will be dead, and everyone else will be badly injured. Just finish the remaining Cavaliers and Knight off with Andrias’ assassination attacks.

Once you finish, talk to Chappleman and get 10,000 gold. Where are they getting all this money?

This last Side Mission is extremely linear. You will face down pretty small, and extremely weak units. You will likely be able to wipe out the first two phases in a single turn of unit actions. You are going to follow the same pattern each time. Group them together, hit them with AOE attacks, and have Andrias attack the strong units back with his Avatar Rush ability.

The third phase is a touch stronger. But only in that the Soldiers won’t die quite as quickly as the Mages. The fourth phase is the real battle. However, while there are quite a few enemy troops, half of them start on the other side of the map, and it takes them quite some time to reach you. Run straight for the Mages. Drawing the Soldiers in as you approach them. Then, using those powerful grouping attacks to bunch them up, and blast them with AOE attacks.

Very quickly you will be left with nothing but the Knight. Surround him and whale on him, make sure Andrias is at his back, and using the Avatar Rush. He has multiple health bars, but he will still die pretty quickly. The other party will be arriving just as you kill the Knight. Do to the Cavalier what you did to the Knight, and then mop up the straggling units. And with that, you will have concluded you final Side Mission in Chapter 6.
