How to capture two different images on BeReal

BeReal does not offer you the option of capturing two different images when capturing your BeReal natively on the platform.

Instead, you have to be quick and trick the app during the image capture process.

Due to the way camera apps are coded, your device can only take one picture at a time.

Because of this, it takes a few seconds for BeReal to capture and combine footage from your front and rear cameras. This gives you the opportunity to reposition your camera before BeReal takes your second shot.

Follow the steps below to capture two different images on BeReal.

Note: Make sure camera sounds are turned on and Do Not Disturb is turned off on your device. If you have an iOS device, make sure the mute switch is off so you can hear your camera sounds when using the guide below.

Open BeReal and start a capture with a tap Take your BeReal or by replying to your friends’ BeReal.

Now make sure that sounds and notifications are enabled on your device. Set up the frame for the shot you want to capture and also keep the subject of your second photo in mind. Also note the camera preview on your screen. The first picture will be taken by the camera previewed on your screen. The second image is then captured by your alternate camera. With that in mind, be prepared to flip your device over and take the other shot as soon as you use the shutter button. Press the closure icon when ready.
