How to Update Spotify on Any Device
- You can update Spotify on your iPhone, iPad or Android by going through the App Store.
- On a PC or Mac, a small blue dot will appear next to your username when an update is available.
- Reinstalling Spotify will also update it automatically.
Like most apps, Spotify occasionally receives updates that add new features and fix bugs. But depending on how you listen to Spotify – on your phone, an iPad or on a computer – updating the app requires different steps.
How to update Spotify on an iPhone or iPad
By default, your iPhone and iPad apps that have updates available should automatically install them all at once at some point throughout the day. However, you can check for updates and install them manually through the App Store.
1. Open the App Store and tap Your Apple ID icon in the upper right corner.
2. Scroll down to Pending automatic updates Section. If you find Spotify in this list, an update is waiting for it – tap on it To update next to, or Refresh all above.
If Spotify is not present, no update is available.
How to update Spotify on Android
Most Android phones automatically update apps as they become available. However, you can check manually through the Google Play Store.
1. Open the Play Store app and tap your user icon in the upper right corner.
2. Choose Manage apps and devices option, and then tap updates available.
3. You will see a list of all apps waiting to be updated. Find Spotify in this list and tap on it To update next to it or tap Refresh all above.
If Spotify isn’t here, it’s up to date.
How to update Spotify on Mac or PC
Unlike the other versions, you don’t need to update the Mac and PC versions of Spotify through an external app store. Instead, you need to update Spotify through the app itself.
Whenever there is a Spotify update available, a blue dot will appear next to your username in the upper-right corner of the window.
click your username to open a drop-down menu. In this menu click on the update available. Restart now Possibility.
Once Spotify comes back up, the latest version will be running.
