  • Scroll right to Settings for Profile & System and select settings.
  • Among the options for Accountchoose Linked Social Accounts.

  • You then have two options: scan a QR code to sign in on a mobile device, or continue on your console.
  • If you choose Continue on the consoleyou will be redirected to the Microsoft Edge app and asked to sign in to your Discord account.

Whether you use the QR code or Microsoft Edge, you need to choose after logging into Discord Authorize so that your accounts can be linked.

Once your Xbox account has been authorized, your Xbox and Discord accounts are now linked.

What Discord chat options are available to you on Xbox

Now that you know how to start a Discord chat from your Xbox console, there are plenty of options and benefits available.

For starters, Discord gives you access to numerous cross-platform servers, and finding the right Discord server for you can enhance your gaming and social experiences beyond the consoles you own.

Discord on Xbox also allows you to control certain options for your Discord voice channel directly from your Xbox’s party screen.

Settings like turning off chat, switching to game chat, and controlling the audio mix are all available from your console.

However, note that while you can merge Discord and Xbox chats, some features are limited.

Most notably, you cannot merge Discord and Xbox friends in the same chat. If you have a Discord chat open, only Discord friends can join, and if you invite an Xbox friend, the chat will be disconnected and become a standard Xbox party.

With Xbox and Discord providing a unified social experience for online gaming, the scope for online interactivity was greater than ever. Discord’s support for platforms like PlayStation, Steam, and Epic Games means Xbox players can use Discord to chat online across numerous platforms.
