How to Watch All the James Bond Movies in Order

Since the first James Bond film in 1962, seven actors have played 007 on the big screen: Sean Connery, David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig. As James Bond producers scramble to find out who will fill Bond’s famous tuxedo next, what better time than now to rewatch every single Bond film?

From October 2022, all 25 James Bond films will now stream on Prime Video. Last year, Amazon acquired MGM, the studio that produced every single Bond film. The 25 Bond films will be available “for a limited time” but Prime hasn’t specified what “limited” means.

From Russia With Love (1963)

Connery quickly returned for a follow-up escorting Bond to Turkey for the theft of a Soviet cryptographic device. The producers chose this Ian Fleming novel next because President John F. Kennedy listed the book as one of his ten favorite books of all time.

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969)

The first non-Connery James Bond film was in 1969 On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, in which model George Lazenby appeared in the role. Lazenby would only play Bond once, and during a scene in the film where a girl runs away from Bond, he turns to the camera and says, “It never happened to the other guy.”

Live and Let Die (1973)

Roger Moore’s Bond era began with live and Let Die, where Bond investigates the murder of three British MI6 agents in San Monique. The eighth Bond film was the first to feature a black woman, Rosie Carver (played by Gloria Hendry), as a love interest.

Bond (Moore) is marked as the target of assassin Francisco Scaramanga and decides to hunt him down in China before Scaramanga can kill him.

The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)

Bond (Moore again) teams up with KGB agent Anya Amasova (Barbara Bach) to stop villain Karl Stromberg (Curt Jurgens), who plans to start World War III and start a new world under the sea.

When a space shuttle is hijacked, Bond is sent to investigate – following the trail from California to Rio de Janeiro, to the Amazon rainforest and finally into space. (Yes, space – hence the promotional image.) It’s the sci-fi of all Bond films and was inspired by the success of war of stars.

For Your Eyes Only (1981)

Moore’s fifth mission as Bond finds he is being sent to recover a stolen navigation system and take down Greek smuggler Aristotle Kristatos (Julian Glover). There’s a lot more storyline, but that’s the simplest summary for the purpose.

Timothy Dalton, the fifth Bond, made his debut in The living daylights, which plays a lot during the Cold War; The plot focuses on the defectors (or fake defectors) of KGB agents.

Dalton’s run as Bond was short-lived; This was his second and last film. in the Licence to kill, Bond’s original license to kill is revoked after he helps his sidekick, CIA agent Felix Leiter (John Terry), apprehend a drug lord.

Brosnan, Pierce Brosnan: In Gold eyeBrosnan made his debut as 007. The villain eventually becomes Agent 006, who faked his own death and works with the criminal organization Janus. This includes the debut of Judi Denchs M, the head of the British secret service. Dench played M for the Brosnan and Daniel Craig films.

Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)

Tomorrow never dies stars the divine Michelle Yeoh as Chinese agent Wai Lin, who joins forces with Brosnan’s Bond to investigate the sinking of a British warship in Chinese waters. The villain turns out to be media tycoon Elliot Carver (Jonathan Price), who wants a war for TV ratings.

Brosnan battles Russian terrorist Victor “Renard” Zokas (Robert Carlyle) and protects Elektra King (Sophie Marceau), who is being targeted by Zokas.

For the 50th anniversary film, Bond faces off against former MI6 agent and turned terrorist Raoul Silva (Javier Bardem). The film also sees the return of Léa Seydoux as Bond’s love, Dr. Madeleine Swann.
