MATCHUP STORY

Sunday’s game marks the 29th duel between these two teams and the second year in a row that they meet in Week 5. The Chargers have an all-time 18-9-1 advantage over the Browns, including winning four of their last five matchups.

The last meeting between these two teams took place on October 10, 2021 at SoFi Stadium.

The Chargers edged out the Browns 47-42 in Week 5 last season in an exciting game that saw both teams total 89 points. Quarterback Justin Herbert threw for 398 yards for a season-high and had five total touchdowns en route to the win. Running back Austin Ekeler finished the day with 118 total yards and three touchdowns (two rushing and one receiving), including the go-ahead rushing touchdown with 1:28 in the game. The Bolts wide receivers also had big days, as Mike Williams ended the day with eight receptions for 165 yards and two touchdowns, including a 72-yard long, and Keenan Allen caught six passes for 75 yards.
