Formula 1 is coming to the United States for the second time this season, with the F1 US Grand Prix slated for October 23 at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. ESPN’s family of channels will air the practice trials while the main event will be televised on ABC and simulcast on ESPN3. Pre-race coverage begins at 1:30 p.m. ET while the race begins at 3:00 p.m. ET.

Last year’s F1 champion Max Verstappen heads into the weekend with a healthy lead in the standings and just four races left on the calendar. Verstappen has won 12 races so far this season, including the Japanese GP earlier this month and the Miami GP during F1’s only other stop in the US this year. Verstappen’s Red Bull Racing team-mate Sergio Pérez is second in the standings, just a point clear of Scuderia Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.

How to watch the 2022 F1 US Grand Prix

You can catch the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix on October 23 at 3:00pm ET on ABC and ESPN3. Practice and qualifying runs will be broadcast on ESPN2, ESPNews and ESPN3 on October 21st and 22nd.

If you already have access to ABC or ESPN through a cable or satellite provider, you can also watch the race on ABC.com, ESPN.com, or their respective apps. You must sign up with a TV provider account to access streaming. Formula 1 events are not included on ESPN+.

If you don’t already have access to TV channels or a cable provider, you can stream the F1 US Grand Prix through a live TV streaming service such as Sling TV, Hulu + Live TV, FuboTV or YouTube TV.

Of these options, Sling TV offers the cheapest subscription plan. While Sling TV does not broadcast ABC, the race will be simulcast on ESPN3, available through Sling’s Orange plan. You can also use your Sling account details to watch the race through the ESPN app if you prefer. Sling TV Orange starts at $35 per month, but new subscribers get a 50% discount for the first month.
