Scouting report by Victor Wembanyama

Scott Rafferty of The Sporting News explained why Wembanyama is #1 in almost every mock draft available:

Offensively, Wembanyama has drawn comparisons to Wizards forward Kristaps Porzingis because he can stretch the court as a 7-footer at a high level. Although the numbers aren’t out yet, remember that he’s only a teenager. Also, he sure looks like a Sagittarius. Not only is he able to spot and peck and pop, but he can also operate from screens like a grand piano. …

Wembanyama also does more traditional big man stuff. He’s a legitimate praise threat, he’s shown some potential off the rack and he’s already a great edge guard. Another player Wembanyama has been compared to: jazz star and compatriot Rudy Gobert, three-time Defensive Player of the Year who will go down as one of the most dominant defensemen in NBA history. Wembanyama has a massive presence around the basket and is agile enough to step to the edge. …

Put it all together – size, length, shot, grip, defensive chops, fluidity – and it’s no wonder people are going insane over Wembanyama. The icing on the cake is that he doesn’t turn 19 until January, so he’s only scratching the surface of his potential.

Scoot Henderson Scouting Report

Kyle Irving from The Sporting News has the breakdown on Henderson:

A solid 6-2, 195-pound height, strength and length with a reported 6-9 span, Henderson already looks like an NBA-level combo guard. The first thing that will strike you is his explosiveness as an athlete. He doesn’t need time to accelerate before rising up and attacking the basket with aggression. Henderson is at his best when it’s downhill. He uses his speed and powerful frame to absorb contact, shrug off defenders and land on the edge – which is by far the most impressive aspect of his game. …

Henderson’s pull-up game is deadly — and far more advanced than a typical prospect. Not only does it have a smooth hit and high release, but it can also stop on the fly. …

On the other side of the ball, Henderson still has work to do. He has the tools to be a disruptive and physical full-back but we haven’t borne fruit yet.
