The two best players in the world, Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic, will face off in the 2023 Wimbledon singles final on Sunday.
While it is the first Wimbledon final for world No. 1 Alcaraz, Djokovic is a seven-time champion in the grass major. This will be Djokovic’s fifth straight final and the Serb will be looking to join the elite club of Bjorn Borg and Roger Federer as he is the only man to have won five straight titles at the Championship.

In addition to the trophy, the winner of the Wimbledon final is also crowned number 1 in the world.
“It gives you extra motivation. I think it’s something special to play a final against a legend of our sport,” Alcaraz said of the match. “If I win it could be great for me. To not only win a Wimbledon title, but to do it against Novak would be very special.”
The Spaniard won his first Grand Slam at the 2022 US Open.
Djokovic is now a 23-time major champion. He is the highest decorated men’s Grand Slammer and ties with Serena Williams for most singles majors in the Open Era. The all-time record belongs to Margaret Court, who has 24 Grand Slam singles titles to her credit.

The Serb has already won the first two Majors of the season and hopes to maintain his chance at the Grand Slam (all four Majors of the year) alongside tying Court’s record.

How did the Indians fare at Wimbledon 2023?
India’s challenge at Wimbledon 2023 ended when Rohan Bopanna was eliminated in the men’s doubles semifinals on Thursday.
Bopanna and sixth-seeded Matt Ebden lost 7-5, 6-4 in an hour and 26 minutes to top seeds Wesley Koolhof of the Netherlands and Neal Skupski of Great Britain.

Koolhof and Skupski took most of the narrow chances that came their way, converting both break points – one in each set – to pass the Indo-Australian pair. Meanwhile, they saved the only break point they faced.
Reaching the last four was Bopanna’s best result at Wimbledon. He had previously reached the semifinals in 2013 and 2015.
