Will TÁR be available in streaming on the same day as the cinemas?
Unfortunately, TAR won’t be available to stream on launch day, and there’s no news on which streaming service it will end up on. However, since Focus Features is owned by NBCUniversal, it’s likely that once it leaves theaters it will end up on its parent company’s streaming service, Peacock.

A full length trailer for TAR was released on August 25th. It begins with an image of Cate Blanchett surrounded by darkness, slowly releasing a large puff of smoke from her mouth. Then her haunting narrative begins. She explains how time is the essential element and as a conductor it cannot begin without her saying it. The rest of the trailer reveals little about the plot. It plays like a collage of photographs and artworks and increasingly disturbing cinematic tableaux, punctuated by Cate Blanchett conducting her orchestra. With a highly unconventional trailer accompanied by an intense chorus, this can only mean that the film follows few traditional storylines.
