How to Watch Usyk-Joshua 2 Weigh-in and Fight Live Updates: Start Time, Streaming, Channel, Odds and Predictions
Oleksandr Usyk will defend his WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight belts against former champion Anthony Joshua at the Jeddah Superdome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday. The fight is a rematch of a September 2021 bout in which Usyk controlled the rounds from the opening bell en route to a unanimous decision on the scorecards (117-112, 116-112, 115-113). For the Brit it was only the second defeat in 26 professional fights up to that point.
Will Joshua find redemption in the Middle East similar to his rematch win over Anthony Ruiz Jr.? Or will the Ukrainian reassert his dominance and maintain his flawless record?
Heavyweight title contender Otto Wallin says he will pick Usyk on Saturday night.
“It’s hard to face Usyk just because of what he did in the first fight,” Wallin said the athlete. “It wasn’t like it was a full shutout, but Usyk was obviously the better guy. Joshua looked like he was just struggling to survive and he really didn’t want to. It looked like a training session. That has a lot to do with confidence and it seemed like Joshua didn’t want to get hit and risk being knocked out. Unfortunately, that’s a part of boxing and heavyweight boxing.
“You always want to have a good defense, that’s very important, but at the same time you can’t just go in and expect not to take a hit. You have to be prepared for it and have an answer for it. You can’t fight not to lose. You have to fight to win and I think that makes a really big difference. When you’re fighting not to lose, you’re defensive, don’t want to get hit, and don’t take chances. With a guy like Uysk you have to take risks and be aggressive to get him out of your game plan. If not, he’ll just be brilliant and do his thing.”
the athlete will have full coverage of the megafight throughout the week. Here’s what you need to know.
