How to Watch Wherever You Are in the World

The 2022 Global Citizen Festival season is officially here, with the world’s greatest artists, the most influential leaders and global citizens all coming together to empower girls and women, take climate action, break down systemic barriers and empower activists and advocates strengthen.

The ambitious campaign will culminate in a stunning climax on September 24 with two events in New York’s Central Park – presented by Citi and Cisco – and Black Star Square in Accra, Ghana, presented by Harith General Partners.

Global Citizen Festival: NYC will be hosted by actress, producer, author and Global Citizen Ambassador Priyanka Chopra Jonas and will feature performances from Metallica, Charlie Puth, Jonas Brothers, MÅNESKIN, Mariah Carey, Mickey Guyton and Rosalía with special guests Angélique Kidjo and Billy Porter.

Presenters include Amber Ruffin, Andy Cohen, Antoni Porowski, Bill Nye, Chris Redd, Connie Britton, Jay Shetty, Katie Holmes, Misty Copeland, Rachel Brosnahan, Scott Evans, Tamron Hall and Van Jones.

This year Central Park will mark 10 years of festivals and a decade of impact.

Celebrating the 65th anniversary of the country’s independence and the 20th anniversary of the African Union, the Global Citizen Festival: Accra in Ghana is hosted by award-winning actor, playwright and activist Danai Gurira and features live performances by Usher, SZA, Stormzy, Gyakie, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Uncle Waffles and TEMS.

Presenters include Berla Mundi, Joselyn Dumas, Michaela Coel, Nomzamo Mbatha and Sabrina Dhowre Elba.

Of course, not everyone will have the opportunity to attend the events in person, so we’ve laid out exactly how you can watch, hear, and stream the show on TV, online, or over the radio.

Global

Anyone can watch the 10-hour show from the comfort of their own home via the Global Citizen App, YouTube Channel or YouTube Channel Twitter page. The live stream begins September 24th at 4pm ET in New York, which is 8pm in Accra, 9pm in London, 10pm in Johannesburg and Paris and midnight for Dubai.

Global live streams are also available on Amazon Music, Apple Music and the Apple TV app, Twitch and Veeps.

North America

The live stream can be viewed in the United States on ABC News LIVE beginning at 4:00 p.m. ET. Hulu will stream on ABC News Live. The entire show will also be streamed via the iHeartRadio app. The following day, September 25, FX will air a two-hour highlight special starting at 5:00 p.m. ET, while ABC will air a one-hour primetime special, Global Citizen Festival: Take Action NOW, at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Canadians can watch and also follow across the global platforms Global Citizen Canada Twitter account for updates.

Latin America

The 10-hour broadcast will be available to watch from 5:00 p.m. local time (4:00 p.m. ET) across Brazil on Globo’s Bis channel.

Global Citizens living across Latin America can also catch a two-hour highlight show via Albavision starting at 7 p.m. ET.

Europe

The live show starts at 9pm WET and 10pm CET. Those in the UK should ensure they follow the Global Citizen UK Twitter pagewhile our German friends can keep up to date with them Global Citizen German Twitter Account.

Africa

Canal+ has partnered with Global Citizen in Africa, allowing people from across Francophone Africa to tune in to a two-hour highlights package on Canal+ Pop on September 25 at 8:30pm local time.

Oceania

Those pesky time zones mean that the festival actually takes place early on September 25 in Oceania, at 6am for Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Hobart, 5:30am for Adelaide and Darwin and a nice early start at 4am for Perth. Australians can also watch a two-hour special on 9NOW, which will be available for a week from September 26th.

The show starts at 6am for Papua New Guinea, 7am for Solomon Islands, New Caledonia and Vanuatu and 8am for New Zealand, Fiji and Tuvalu. Those in the Oceania region should follow Twitter from Global Citizen Australia and Facebook pages for the latest information.

Asia

It’s an early morning for our global citizens living across the continent of Asia. To watch live, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and China can tune in from 4:00 p.m., while Japan and Korea can tune in from 5:00 p.m. The show starts at 1:30am for India and 1:00am for Pakistan.
