Indian give the Chief more sporting chops with new Sport Chief

Indian today unveiled the most aggressive iteration of the iconic Indian Chief with the launch of Sport Chief.
With inverted KYB front forks, also found on Indian Challenger models, the Sport Chief offers superior handling and better ride performance than its namesake.
The Sport Chief’s dual-disc, four-piston, semi-floating, and radial-mount Brembo brakes deliver confidence-inspiring stopping power, while piggybacking FOX rear shocks increase travel to four inches and lean angle to 29.5 degrees compared to other Indian Chiefs -models.
The result is an Indian Chief that screams for more aggressive driving and offers the confidence and ability to take the driving experience to another level.
With a sleek tubular steel frame, the Sport Chief retains the mechanical design of the Indian Chief.
At the heart of it all is a blacked-out Thunderstroke 116 engine producing 162Nm of torque, while a sleek new quarter fairing along with new moto-style bars with machined triple clamps and 6-inch risers set the Sport Chief apart from the rest of the Indian Chief lineup. Occupation.
Center-mounted foot controls match a solo gunslinger seat, riders are in a commanding driving position.
Sport Chief features sport cast wheels with Pirelli Night Dragon tires, a 15.1-liter fuel tank, raised rear fender, dual exhaust, LED lighting, keyless ignition and three selectable drive modes including Sport, Standard and Tour.
Ride-enhancing technology comes standard with Indian’s 4-inch touchscreen. The rider can access multiple interfaces, including two different instrument configurations, bike and trip information, and turn-by-turn navigation, via handlebar controls or the digital touchscreen display.
When using a wireless helmet communicator, riders can control their music within the Ride Command system once their phone is paired via Bluetooth or USB. Drivers can also access phone information including recent calls, contacts, number pad and text message history.
Current Indian Chief Dark Horse, Chief Bobber and Super Chief riders can upgrade to the Sport Chief’s stock FOX piggyback double exposed shocks, which offer 4 inches of travel that allows for greater lean angles.
Expected to arrive on shores of Australia and New Zealand from May 2023, the 2023 Sport Chief will be available in Black Smoke, Ruby Smoke and Stealth Gray finishes.
