Ipswich Town 4-0 Burton Albion
Ipswich scored three first-half goals in a pulsing 11-minute period en route to a convincing win over Burton at Portman Road.
Those goals came from Conor Chaplin, Nathan Broadhead and Freddie Ladapo and kept the pressure on the two teams at the top of League One.
Chaplin’s deflected shot from Jasper Moon completed the second-half goal as Town kept a fourth straight clean sheet.
Dale Taylor went just wide of the goal for Burton when he deflected a shot on goal from Deji Oshilaja, but Chaplin turned around in the box and fired in the corner of the goal in the 31st minute.
Town made it 2-0 seven minutes later when Broadhead were at the end of a play involving Harry Clarke and Wes Burns and Ladapo put them further ahead in the 42nd minute when he converted a pass from Chaplin.
Cameron Burgess found Burton’s Josh Walker in the last minute and Town goalkeeper Christian Walton turned a Joe Powell shot around the post as the visitors pressed, but Ipswich made it 4-0 through Chaplin’s deflected shot in the 69th minute.
