While Doncic has played well, the Mavericks haven’t had much success. They are currently on a three-game losing streak but face the Charlotte Hornets, one of the worst teams in the league, on Sunday. Luckily for Dallas, Doncic will be available for the matchup.
The 6-foot-7 superstar dealt with multiple injuries during the 2022-23 season and missed 15 games as a result. However, he is listed as active and will likely face the Hornets.

The Dallas Mavericks and Charlotte Hornets meet early Sunday afternoon. The game starts at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time and should be very interesting.
Despite having the fourth-worst record in the NBA this season and being eliminated from the playoffs, the Hornets are still very competitive. In fact, they beat the Mavericks in Dallas on Friday night.
Luka Doncic was fantastic in his last matchup against the Hornets. He led the team with 34 points in 12-for-23 shooting. The four-time All-Star also added 10 assists and eight rebounds to his last stat line.
In the end, however, the Hornets prevailed, beating the Mavs by eight points (117-109) in what was the most heartbreaking loss of the season. Dallas needed to win this game, but the Hornets were too good.

The teams have a chance for a rematch on Sunday and it will be interesting to see if the Mavs can hit back. Luka Doncic is listed as active and will play, which should be enough to end the Mavs’ triple losing streak.
The Mavericks guard dealt with a hamstring problem in early March but appears to have fully recovered from the injury. The 6-7 guard also dealt with foot and ankle problems earlier in the season.
The Dallas Mavericks are currently 36-38 and tied with the OKC Thunder for last place in the play-in tournament. With a win, they move up a spot and push the Thunder down. Yet another loss would be a disappointment.

If the Mavs lose, they either have to get through the play-in tournament or miss the playoffs entirely. Luckily, they have the eighth-lightest remaining game schedule in the league.
