James Gunn Gives Two Reasons Why The Latest Zack Snyder Fan Hashtag Is ‘The Wackiest
It’s official: we’re entering a new era with upcoming DC movies and upcoming DC TV shows. Last week, DC Studios executives James Gunn and Peter Safran revealed a series of 10 projects forming the launch of Chapter One of the DC Universe franchise, titled Gods and Monsters. And yet there’s a segment of the DC fan base that holds onto hope that one day Zack Snyder will be able to finish his saga with these superhero characters. Just last month, a new fan campaign launched to somehow sell the Snyderverse to Netflix, and Gunn has now given two reasons why the hashtag #SellTheSnyderVerseToNetflix is ”the craziest”.
James Gunn shared his thoughts on the matter after a fan commented on his tweet with the hashtag, which simply showed a picture of Swamp Thing getting a new movie that James Mangold could direct. Gunn replied to the Zack Snyder supporter as follows:
DC and Netflix already have a relationship as the latter streaming service is home to The Sandman And sweet tooth, two television adaptations of comic book series published through DC’s now-defunct Vertigo line. And while James Gunn revealed that there are ongoing discussions between the two sides, not only has Netflix expressed no interest in tackling the Snyderverse, nor has Zack Snyder himself. Remember, the man already has enough on his plate to to deliver him to Netflix subscribers for years to come, including his sci-fi epic rebel moonwho boasts a huge cast.
After James Gunn tweeted his take on #SellTheSnyderVerseToNetflix, another fan was curious what he and Zack Snyder talked about, which the filmmaker said in a new one tweet:
So there you have it: Not only Zack Snyder is already satisfied with his work on the two-parter rebel moon and the Army of the Dead franchise, he sounds interested in what James Gunn and Peter Safran have been up to at DC. That’s not to say Snyder might not make another DC movie one day, but in between Guardian, man of Steel, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and its cut justice leagueThe man has already played around in this proverbial sandbox. I feel so sorry for the Snyderverse fans out there who were hoping Snyder could continue to fill out his corner of the DC Multiverse on Netflix, but that’s just not in the cards.
You will see how rebel moon It turns out the first part hits Netflix on December 22nd, and once Snyder’s work in this sci-fi world is done, he’ll presumably turn to helming Planet of the Dead. As for DC, although there are four upcoming DC movies this year, James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe is only officially starting on the cinema front Superman: Legacy will be released on July 11, 2025, although it is possible that the animated creature commands Series may premiere earlier for HBO Max subscribers.
