Jamie Foxx health condition latest updates
ATLANTA – According to his daughter, Jamie Foxx is discharged from the hospital and on the road to recovery.
Corrine Foxx’s update on Friday was the first official update on the actor’s condition since her post last month announcing his hospitalization.
Has Jamie Foxx been released from the hospital?
Due to the lack of official news, speculation has been rife in recent weeks, with some reports even suggesting that the Foxx family was “preparing for the worst.”
Corrine Foxx’s post on an Instagram story on Friday tried to set the record straight.
“Update from the family: It’s sad to see how rampant the media is,” Corinne Foxx said on Friday. “My father has been out of the hospital for weeks and is recovering. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thank you for all your prayers and support!”
She added that they “will also have an exciting work announcement next week.”
Here’s everything we know so far about Jamie Foxx’s medical situation:
Why was Jamie Foxx in the hospital?
Family members have not shared exactly what led to Foxx’s hospitalization. His daughter, Corinne Foxx, said in an Instagram post that he “had a medical complication.”
Her full post was:
“From the Foxx family:
“We wanted to let you know that my father Jamie Foxx developed a medical complication yesterday (April 11). Fortunately, thanks to quick action and great care, he is already on the road to recovery.”
“We know how popular he is and appreciate your prayers. The family requests privacy at this time.”
This Instagram post has since been deleted.
The complication occurred while Foxx was in Atlanta working on his film Back in Action. According to reports, this did not happen on the set.
What has Jamie Foxx said since his hospitalization?
On May 3, Foxx’s official Instagram posted: “Appreciate all the love!!! I feel blessed.”
Foxx’s account also commented on an Instagram Story of Nick Cannon announcing that he would be filling in for Foxx on Beat Shazam.
“I appreciate you my boy @nickcannon. See you soon,” the account wrote in an Instagram Story post.
Who is Corinne Foxx?
Corinne Foxx is the 29-year-old daughter of Jamie Foxx and Connie Kline. She is an actress and also DJed on Beat Shazam, the FOX game show hosted by her father.
Corinne Foxx posted about her father’s health on April 11, but that Instagram post has since been deleted.
Up until Friday’s update, her account remained dormant, with the notable exception of a May 9th sponsored post. In this post, Corinne appears in an ad for Intel along with her father.
Corinne was reportedly “a fixture” at the side during her father’s recovery.

What have friends said about Jamie Foxx?
In an interview with Extra on April 20, Martin Lawrence said, “I heard he’s getting better… I pray for him every night and wish him nothing but the best, one of the best we’ve gotten in Hollywood.” “
Actress Tracy Morgan also showed her support for Foxx.
“He’s strong, he’s a fighter, he’s going to get out of there and he’s good. He’s going to be stronger and better than ever,” Morgan told Entertainment Tonight.
Comedian Steve Harvey told ET he was stunned to hear the news that Foxx had been hospitalized.
“This guy’s fit so I was really worried man,” Harvey said. “So I hope everything works out. I’m pretty sure it will work.”
A week later, actress Tiffany Haddish told Entertainment Tonight she heard Foxx was “doing fine,” explaining that she and Foxx had several mutual friends and they “kept them updated.”
On May 1st, hip hop star and film producer Charlie Mack posted on Instagram: “I need you all to keep up our beloved brotherhood @iamjamiefoxx that we all dearly love and cherish in our hearts, thoughts and prayers! !!” !!”
The next day, while appearing on the Logan Paul podcast, comedian Kevin Hart said of Foxx’s condition: “To my knowledge there’s a lot of progress and a world that’s getting better man. The great thing is that he is doing better in his situation. And you know, everyone’s prayers, everyone’s love, everyone’s energy – all of that can be seen and felt.”
In the same podcast, Hart noted, “Jamie has always been a private person to some degree.”
On May 4, Natasha Blasick, who worked with Foxx on the All-Star Weekend movie, told Entertainment Tonight, “I texted him and just yesterday spoke to his friend who’s actually in touch with him. I had.” I really freaked out [with] all the news that he’s getting worse. So I texted [his friend]and he says, “No, no, no, he’s recovering.” Just hearing that he’s doing better made me feel a lot better.”
And while Corinne Foxx pointed out in her May 12 post that her father had been out of the hospital “weeks,” his family appeared to be keeping that fact a secret as many of his fellow actors continued to express their concerns as of Friday.
Just hours before Corinne’s encouraging post, actress Nia Long tweeted“My heart is heavy this morning. I pray for our brother Jamie Foxx. My love and prayers are deep for you and your loved ones.”
What are others saying about Jamie Foxx’s recovery?
Because very little official information has been released about Foxx’s condition, most reports rely on unnamed sources close to the actor.
On April 21, a source told People magazine that Foxx was “awake and alert” while being watched.
“He’s fine, thank God,” the source told the magazine.
On May 5, a source told People that Foxx is still hospitalized but is “stable and not in a life-threatening condition right now.” This source told People that Foxx remained hospitalized while doctors continued to run tests to make sure the actor was “well before they allowed him” to leave the hospital.
Some media were less encouraging. One report said Foxx’s family was “allegedly prepared for the worst.” Reports like this apparently led to clarification from Corinne Foxx.
What will happen to “Beat Shazam”?
On May 3rd, FOX Entertainment announced that Nick Cannon will be a guest host on the game show Beat Shazam. Kelly Osbourne will serve as guest DJ, replacing Corinne Foxx.
“Everyone at FOX Entertainment wishes Jamie the best in his continued recovery and we really appreciate Nick’s willingness to step in and help this summer,” the network said in a statement shared online by Corinne.
What will happen to Back in Action?
According to People, filming of Back in Action continued in Atlanta with Diaz using stunt and photo doubles to fill in for Foxx.
Where is Jamie Foxx now?
Although Foxx was initially hospitalized in Atlanta, it is unknown if he is still in town or has moved elsewhere. Corrine Foxx’s May 12 update did not specify where he was recovering.
What’s next for Jamie Foxx?
It’s not yet clear what’s next for Jamie Foxx, but his daughter promised “an exciting job announcement next week.”
