Step 1

These tiny white seeds are in the center of the pumpkin fruit when you cut it open. They are caught in the web of pulpy threads. You have to spy the whole thing and soak it in water.

If you leave it in water for a while, the pulp can separate and the pumpkin seeds will float to the top.

Once the seeds are clean, you can take them out. Spread them out on a flat surface and let them dry naturally. Let them sit for as long as possible because the drier they are, the better they will be toasted.

Once the seeds are dry, you need to peel them. This step is optional and can also be skipped. If you pinch the seed at the pointed end, it will burst open. You can remove the shells and take out the seed.
