Las Vegas F1 Grand Prix 2023: Where and when is the new race track layout? Parties planned, VIP tickets, prices
The 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix will be a glittering and glamorous affair.
Officials in the popular party capital of the United States have approved a plan to close the famous Strip to F1 racing for the next 10 years, a bold plan that has been criticized by some outlets.
The event marks the first time F1 has competed in Las Vegas since 1982 – it was also the case that the USA last had three races on the calendar.
But what can we expect from the race and what about the crazy parties and VIP packages being sold? Will Vegas now rival Monaco as the most exclusive event in Formula 1? The Sporting News dig a little deeper…

Where in Las Vegas is the race held?
The race course will take place around the Las Vegas Strip, with views of Caesar’s Palace – as the race was called in 1982 – and other famous casinos and hotels in the city. The 3.803 mile (6.120 km) street circuit features 17 corners and a 1.181 mile (1.900 km) straight.
Construction is underway on a building that will form the pit and paddock areas for the race after F1 bought a 39-acre site for $240 million – it was formerly a disused car park.

The race takes place in November, the weekend of November 16-18 – the penultimate round of the 2023 season before the finale in Abu Dhabi a week later.
Las Vegas plans to keep its late-season slot as it fits well into the weekend leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday in November for years to come.

Duration of contract in Las Vegas and agreement with Formula 1
After agreeing an initial three-year deal with F1, the Clark County Commission heard a motion to make the Las Vegas Grand Prix an annual event through 2023 – with an estimated economic impact worth more than $1 billion will – which was accepted without any problems.
James Gibson, the Clark County Commissioner, said ahead of the vote, “This will open the way to being able to do this for at least 10 years. And more than that, I’m sure those who follow us will see the value of our work and will carry on forever.”

Party packages and VIP ticket prices
Now for the fun part. The hotels and casinos around the Las Vegas Strip offer a variety of F1 Grand Prix themed packages. Below are some of the packages that have received media coverage:
- The Emperor’s Package, Nobu Hotel Caesars Palace – $5 million – for that princely sum, get five nights in an exclusive penthouse villa at the famous hotel and a viewing deck for you and 75 friends overlooking the track. Also included is access to the paddocks, the private Caesars Entertainment Club, your own Rolls Royce and chauffeur, spa service, a VIP presenter and tickets to Adele’s performance.
- Lucky 888 Package – $888,000 – for a little less (but still a stunning price) get this all-inclusive package, seats at the Paddock Club, an exclusive party with private F1 weekend events, and then kick back at the chic Crockfords’ Palace Hotel.
- The Venetian Tower Pack – $8,857 – Now for the cheaper end of the packs… for that price you get three nights at The Venetian Tower Hotel, grandstand tickets to the race, food and drink included. Not bad, but still a big expense.
