Liverpool news and transfers LIVE – Nicolo Barella claim, Alexis Mac Allister latest, Fabio Carvalho move
Hello and welcome to the ECHO’s dedicated Liverpool news and transfer blog on Sunday 28th May.
Liverpool have little chance in the season finale in Southampton after rivals Manchester United stripped them of Champions League qualification on Thursday night. That means Jurgen Klopp and his players will be back in the Europa League next season for the first time since 2016.
Meanwhile, as for the planned transfer deals, the Reds have apparently set their price for backup goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, while Fabio Carvalho is also being linked with a move. In terms of a midfield redesign, reports suggest Nicolo Barella could be back on the radar for Klopp and his recruiting team.

Liverpool target Barella and Mac Allister signings – reports
Liverpool are looking to sign Nicolo Barella and Alexis Mac Allister this summer.
This emerges from the latest reports from the Italian magazine Calciomercato.
Both players have been strongly recommended to move to Anfield.
But is that a realistic possibility? Calciomercato believe it would cost £87million to lure Barella away from the Champions League finalist, while Liverpool are shelving their plans to target Jude Bellingham due to the financial costs associated with this one potential deal has. One to keep in mind.
