Hello and welcome to our Liverpool transfer blog for Thursday 29th June.

A meeting with Szoboszlai’s Hungary-based agent EM Sports Management is understood to have taken place as Liverpool continue to assess what’s possible this summer, having signed Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly close to signing their No 1 target Declan Rice after agreeing a £105m deal with West Ham. That is according to the Daily Mail, which reports that Arsenal’s offer included paying the guaranteed part of the fee over a four-year period.

Real are ‘forced to intervene’ due to Liverpool’s interest in Camavinga.

Real Madrid have reportedly offered Eduardo Camavinga a new contract in a bid to stave off Liverpool transfer interest.

The France midfielder has agreed to extend his stay at the Spanish giants until 2028 as claimed by MARCA, resulting in the player’s release clause rising from €700m to €1bn. The 20-year-old, who was first recruited from Rennes in 2021, has become a regular for Carlo Ancelotti’s side and is likely to retain his place despite the arrival of Jude Bellingham as he can also play at left-back.

As part of the negotiations for that contract extension, Camavinga is said to have ‘demanded’ that he return to a regular midfield role or threatened to ‘consider offers on the table’. Liverpool are listed as a side that were interested in securing his services, with El Nacional saying Jurgen Klopp “already tried” to sign the youngster during his time at Rennes and remains interested in the player.

Because of this interest, Los Blancos were ‘forced to step in’ to secure the long-term future of one of their most valuable assets. Klopp is said to have been “amazed” by the development of Camavinga since his move to Real and “ordered” the Liverpool board to take action to bring him to Anfield. It is believed the Reds were willing to offer a €20m (£17m) per season salary as part of a four-year deal.

Carvalho “in Germany” for medicine

Fabio Carvalho is believed to be in Germany as he prepares for a medical ahead of his loan move to RB Leipzig.

Recently, the Reds approved a deal that sees the midfielder leave the club temporarily, with the Bundesliga as his target for the 2023/24 season.

Carvalo is now one step closer to making the deal official as he prepares to take part in routine medical tests, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Szoboszlai transfer at the latest

Liverpool are eyeing a deal for RB Leipzig’s Dominik Szoboszlai and continue to explore options for remodeling their midfield.

Hungary captain Szoboszlai has emerged as one of the brightest young talents in the Bundesliga after joining Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg two years ago.

A meeting with Szoboszlai’s Hungary-based agent EM Sports Management is understood to have taken place as Liverpool continue to assess what’s possible this summer, having signed Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this month.

However, there is conflicting information about the expiry date of a release clause worth around £60million. Some reports suggest it will expire on June 30, while others claim it will be mid-July. It is unclear what value the Bundesliga club would place on Szoboszlai if the release clause were no longer in force.
