Hello and welcome to the Liverpool ECHO live blog dedicated to Liverpool FC on Monday 19th June.

The Reds continue to scour Europe and the rest of the world for their latest signing to join Alexis Mac Allister at Anfield. Despite the arrival of the Argentine world champions, midfield remains the priority.

Liverpool are reportedly competing with Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund for Paris Saint Germain prospect Warren Zaire-Emery.

Elsewhere, Football Insider claims Newcastle United have entered the race to sign Khephren Thuram. The Frenchman is heavily linked with a move to Merseyside.

Ruben Neves, another man rumored to have already attracted Jurgen Klopp’s interest, is also close to joining Saudi Arabia club Al Hilal. The 26-year-old has just one year left on his contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The President of FC Bayern Munich talks about Ryan Gravenberch’s future

Bayern Munich President Herbert Hainer is adamant that Ryan Gravenberch will play more minutes next season.

Gravenberch, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool as part of Jurgen Klopp’s midfield rebuild, went public earlier this year to express his dissatisfaction. He said: “In the beginning, of course, I first had to settle in here. A new environment. Everything happens so much faster, sometimes training sessions just feel like competitions.

“But I have the feeling that the adjustment is behind me for a while. Training and playing at the highest level for a year is beautiful and educational. Although I play, it’s mostly training. That has to change next season, then I really want to play weekly again.

“I haven’t spoken to club management yet so just wait and see what happens. But it is clear that this role does not meet my expectations.”

Now let’s fast forward to the present: Bayern boss Hainer has commented on Gravenberch’s situation.

The club president told German broadcaster Bild that he remains certain the 21-year-old will play regularly next year.

“In my opinion, he is an incredibly talented player,” said Hainer. “That’s why we brought him with us. Towards the end of the season he got more playing time. I’m sure he’ll get more playing time in the future.”

Neves is about to make the move for the Saudis

Ruben Neves – who has been linked with Liverpool – is reportedly close to a move to Saudi Arabia club Al Hilal.

Newcastle enter the Thuram race

Football Insider reports that Newcastle took part in the Khephren Thuram race.

Liverpool have been linked with the Nice midfielder since the end of the Premier League season last month.

Money is not an issue for the Magpies as their Saudi-backed takeover and Champions League football could prove attractive.

Like Liverpool, Newcastle are lacking in midfielders and are expected to start spending big again this summer.

According to Football365, Liverpool are reportedly challenging Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund for Paris Saint-Germain sensation Warren Zaire-Emery.

The 17-year-old emerged as one of Europe’s brightest prospects last season, becoming the Ligue 1 giants’ youngest-ever player.

Zaire-Emery was also the youngest player to start in a Champions League knockout game against Bayern Munich in March.

As an attacking midfielder, Jurgen Klopp would see the Frenchman as a player with a future.
