Latest Liverpool injury: Darwin Nunez
Jurgen Klopp has revealed Darwin Nunez needs further investigation after he was substituted off with a shoulder injury in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Newcastle United.
The Uruguayan opened the scoring for the Reds early on after finishing well after a high pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold up front. But he was substituted just before the hour mark after landing awkwardly on his shoulder, despite initially trying to play on.
Liverpool are at home to Real Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday night before heading to Crystal Palace next Saturday.
And speaking to reporters after the final whistle, Klopp admitted the striker’s injury after the painful blow is in doubt.
“The bad news is that Darwin has something on his shoulder,” the German told reporters. “We’ll see. I don’t know what he whistled at in that situation, to be honest against him.
“He ended up leaving with a shoulder problem and we need further investigation. I don’t know at the moment. It hurts right now. Hopefully it’s just painful and nothing more.”

Liverpool urged Price to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
According to Fichajes, Liverpool will need to invest more than £100m if they want to land Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The attacker has burst onto the stage after a string of brilliant performances in Serie A and the Champions League for Luciano Spalletti’s side.
The 22-year-old has recorded 12 goals and 14 assists this season as Napoli’s current squad seek to immortalize themselves in the club’s folklore.
According to Fichajes, Liverpool will have to break the bank if they want to catch him. Of course, they will have to face competition as top clubs from all over Europe circle the Georgian.

Jurgen Klopp has the best playmaker back as the unlikely truth about Virgil van Dijk emerges
Much has been said about Trent Alexander-Arnold this season, with the England international ultimately being one of a number of Liverpool players who are not at their best.
Scrutiny of his defensive prowess was growing louder, with a mid-season World Cup and debate over his place in England admittedly being an unwelcome distraction.
Meanwhile, his attack returns were nowhere near what they had been before. With 18 assists last season, when the Reds nearly managed an unprecedented quadruple, he surprisingly had none before the World Cup break.
And even en route to Liverpool’s trip to Newcastle, the right-back had officially registered just two assists this season. But that doesn’t tell the whole story.
Credited to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain against Brentford and Darwin Nunez against Wolves at Anfield in the FA Cup, it was Alexander-Arnold’s cross that led Wout Faes’ first own goal in the Reds’ 2-1 win over Leicester City in December. Meanwhile, he was stripped of his assist for Cody Gakpo’s goal against Everton on Monday night due to a distraction.

Inter are set to benefit from Marcelo Brozovic
Italian giants Inter Milan reportedly want to benefit from midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.
The Croatian is one of the many midfielders who have been linked with a move to Liverpool and, again with reports from Calciomercato, Jurgen Klopp’s side are said to be interested.
According to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport via TeamTalk, Inter want to sell the midfielder in the summer to earn money.
Tottenham are also included as they look to strengthen their ranks in midfield. They have suffered a number of injuries in recent weeks, including a season-ending knee problem suffered by Rodrigo Bentancur.

Barcelona monitor mount
Barcelona have reportedly joined the race to sign Mason Mount.
Xavi’s side are watching the Chelsea midfielder as his time at Stamford Bridge remains in doubt.
Some of his teammates have penned new deals but he sticks to his current terms. Now his contract is approaching its final year.
Liverpool are said to be linked with the England international and in recent weeks there have been reports that Jurgen Klopp’s side have been monitoring the unraveling situation.
According to Calciomercato, the Catalan giants are ready to join the race for the 24-year-old’s signature.
Mount’s current deal doesn’t expire until 2024 but with numerous new arrivals at Stamford Bridge in the last month including Enzo Fernandez and Joao Felix, Mount has reportedly been looking for a significantly upgraded contract that would put him at a salary level comparable to some of his well-known colleagues.
