Nat Phillips in demand

The latest report from Football Insider states that Leeds United are targeting Liverpool’s Nat Phillips.

Alongside Manchester City’s Taylor Harwood-Bellis, the Championship club hope to sign the defensive duo and lure them with regular first team football that their current clubs cannot offer at present.

Central defenders remain the Yorkshire club’s priority heading into their season opener against Cardiff City on Sunday.

Lavia overlooked

Romeo Lavia remained an unused substitue for Southampton in their 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Friday evening.

Russell Martin opted against starting the Belgian for the Saints’ first match of the new season and decided against bringing him on during the contest.

Three players were introduced from the bench during the game, though Lavia was not one of those.
