‘Londoners know how to party’: Uber ranks London top party city in Canada
It may not come as a surprise to some to find out that Uber ranked London, Ontario as the best party city in the country.
The ridesharing app based its ranking on the number of rides between 10pm and 2am and compared it to other cities
“I think people would have thought Toronto or maybe a bigger city would be at the top,” said Keerthana Rang of Uber’s communications.
London is known for its student parties, including annual homecoming parties and downtown events that draw thousands to the area.

- Ottawa
While London may not have the largest population on the list, Uber data shows that Londoners are also the latest to get around compared to other cities, with most trips occurring between 2am and 4am
“So we think people will take trips to restaurants to go home, or maybe even go to a bar and then around 2 a.m. the top of this party town,” Rang said.
Western students’ reputation for throwing parties still tops the list for many on campus.
“Sometimes we take up to 3 Ubers a night, shuttle back and forth between the bar and the house parties, and you know, Western lives up to its reputation,” said one western student.
“During the pandemic, many people haven’t had the high school party experience they wished they had, so being at a party school is the ultimate experience to get out there and get out of there,” another Western student said Thursday.
“I want to retitle your article and say that London is the most responsible city in all of Canada,” said London Mayor Ed Holder.
In recent months, the owner has been discussing turning part of downtown into an entertainment district that would allow for more events and investment in infrastructure.
On Thursday, the mayor told CTV News he was proud of people coming home responsibly after a night out.
“Whether it’s Uber or your friends thinking enough to take care of their friends … we all want to get people home safely and we all get people back to their families.”
