Manchester United takeover news LIVE plus Eriksen injury latest and Harry Kane transfer talk

Manchester United players are set to return to Carrington this week after the round of international games.

England continued their perfect start to Euro 2024 qualifying with a comfortable 2-0 win over Ukraine thanks to goals from Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka. Harry Maguire played the full 90 minutes while Luke Shaw was out through suspension.

Erik ten Hag will also be hoping to have Christian Eriksen back soon, although it won’t be in time for Sunday’s trip to Newcastle.

Eriksen offered an update on his progress, telling United’s official website: “Yeah, it’s going well. I just started being out there as you saw [on Instagram] with soccer shoes.

“And then we move on, that’s the next step. I’ve been in the gym for a few weeks now and now it’s time to do the next rehab session outside.”

The Finn’s unique offer comes via his fan ownership, which would allow them to buy a stake in the club and have an equal say through an app.

Erik ten Hag has already exceeded expectations since taking charge of Old Trafford and the transformation he has had at the club is made all the more impressive given the lack of forwards at his disposal.

Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has detailed how he is progressing in his recovery from a serious ankle injury.

Eriksen was forced to leave Old Trafford on crutches in January after suffering an ankle injury in the Reds’ 3-1 FA Cup win over Reading. The 31-year-old was initially ruled out for three months over Andy Carroll’s reckless challenge. The former Brentford man is expected to return to action next month.

The midfielder recently shared a positive injury update with fans on social media, revealing he is back on the pitch after two months on the touchlines. Now Eriksen has revealed his mindset during his setback, insisting he is keen to play a role in the season’s finale.
