Manchester United transfer news LIVE takeover latest and Man Utd vs West Ham team news
Manchester United have had little opportunity to celebrate Carabao Cup glory ahead of preparing to host West Ham in the FA Cup fifth round at Old Trafford tonight.
Erik ten Hag brought silverware back to M16 for the first time since 2017 with Sunday’s Carabao Cup win over Newcastle. Goals from Casemiro and Marcus Rashford set the stage for a comfortable win at Wembley.
United returned to training shortly after winning the trophy and Ten Hag admitted to the media yesterday that both Luke Shaw and Fred have doubts about the Hammers’ visit, while Anthony Martial will also be unavailable.
On matters off the pitch, United continue to plan a summer of spending as Ten Hag looks to take their side to the next level. MEN Sports reckons the club will be looking for a new midfielder in the summer and that a fresh defender could also arrive if Harry Maguire leaves.

Jeremie Frimpong last
Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong remains on United’s radar but no concrete approach has yet been made, according to Sky Deutschland’s Florian Plettenberg.
United have emerged as front runners in a reported pursuit of the Dutch defender, who is enjoying a stellar season in the Bundesliga and is expected to quickly rise to a Champions League side.
Several reports suggest an initial approach has been made, but while the Reds are interested in Frimpong, Plettenberg states that each step is not as far along as once thought.

EXCLUSIVE: Erik ten Hag is targeting two big signings at United in the summer
Erik ten Hag wants at least two significant signings in the summer to keep Manchester United’s momentum going next season.
United rulers are looking for a new goalscorer and Ten Hag are also pushing for reinforcements in midfield. United could also recruit a centre-back to bolster their defense if captain Harry Maguire leaves.
The Manchester evening news As revealed in January, United have compiled a list of players they wish to sell and the club’s figures project more spending than revenue for next season.
Regardless of the situation surrounding a potential United takeover, player sales are necessary to comply with Uefa’s financial sustainability laws. United sources have indicated player sale monies would underpin an intended move for a midfielder.
